Actually, no. Feel free to check out professional offroaders that can keep a stock Volks Taureg or Grand Cherokee on the same trails as fully kitted rubicons, even when the Rubi owners max out clearance and shock travel on harder approaches. If you actually read what i said, its not that my truck can crawl over a 24" log like someone on 40's, of course it cant, but on a trail crossing washouts, pits, trenches, etc, when a 44 brotha maxed out and im keeping up on 33's, it is possible to stay in the game by choosing better approach "lines" as you call them.

I did say this.... That the boys on 35s and up dont pick the right path approach... Read brotha.

I did say "less than 1" clearance". Holy smuck you dont read. Depending air pressure, tire brand, wear, and other factors, it could be 1.5 or it could be .5 inch difference of clearance. In ideal conditions, AKA, a normal day not aired down for sand bogging, a 33" tire will be roughly 1.75" shorter than a 35" tire, but again the difference is variable. My Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws are just shy of 33". Dad's BGFs are just over 33". Not everyone airs down either, by the way. Holy friggle diggle youre assumptive.

Oh, and i dont appreciate your snide tone. Really couldnt care less if you actually did go to the china wall (highly suspect but id like to believe it), and it has nothing to do with how you receive my statement. Try being less of a dick, read other's messages, and think about what youre saying back. Damn.

So the conclusion is you have no idea what you are talking about. Here I thought we are talking about offroading and you make ridiculous statements like a stock Taureg keeping up built Rubicons and not airing down.

My mistake I didnt realize you were talking about the mall

Nah, the conversation ended when I realized he was referring to the mall so we are fundamentally on different levels of offroading.

EDIT: For the record anyone on 33s is welcome to join me on some real trails and test their skids and body panels

Bruh, time to sell the expensive suspension and go back to stock with a spacer lift and all terrains. Obviously you are doing it all wrong...

You’ll still keep up with the Rubi’s on 40’s and tons (at the mall), so I think that’s a smart move. Plus you have the built in cooler in the bed. Win-win

For the record, I did the Dusy Ershim last year on 33's(295/70/17). I'll have a lot more fun on the Dusy this year since I've got PitBull Rocker Radials 35x12.5x17 under my rig now. Point is you can do fairly hard trails on 33's. It just sucks the fun out of it. Stacking rocks blows. lol

Dang y’all. 35s became regular. I’m stoked for those that are passionate about it and did it.

I however ain’t got time for that botched nose job bullshit.

Why not some old timey dubs. Those 20” pizza cutters have gone all across Europe and Africa.

What’s the pizza cutter version of 35s? You’d still have to cut. You always have to cut. You can’t half ass these things otherwise

Yeah but it’s more like making a zero tolerance insert for a table saw. Just a straight cut right up the inside of the fender well.

Shit FOR ME, if I’m gunna go up on trails I’d wanna do it right with SAS, tons, 37s+, etc.

No fucking way am I spending thousands on an IFS setup just to do it so-so while getting passed up by all the real rigs. I live close to the rubicon and camp at Loon Lake (start of the Con) all the time and you’re smokin crack if you think my 3rd gen would keep up with some of the trailered rigs I see on the way up and down.

Nada. Stay in your lane lol. I’m going 33s and 4.88 for my ‘17 2.7, but you won’t catch me on anything but fireroads, out camping, light Offroad trails to get to a few remote spots, etc. it’s mostly for looks, although with 33s and good suspension it’ll be decently capable too.

IFS just isn’t built to handle that abuse and hold up long term. Why spend that kind of money on IFS if bangin it up on the rocks is what you live for? Save for SAS or go buy a rig off Craigslist and beat the hell out of it.

35s because it looks cool...any other reason is straight poo. 35s put a strain on my truck I can’t imagine what the fuc! they do to a Tacoma. That said I’m currently shopping 37s

Any way to mitigate the stress from 35s by beefing up other suspension parts, assuming you're already running solid coilovers, uppers and lowers?
