Hey guys. Trying to get an idea for the place. I might be looking at getting orders up there and want to know what i would be getting myself into. It will be at the Naval air station in Patuxent river. Hows the wheeling and outdoor stuff?

    Lots.
A lot of the stuff to do here is on the water. If you have orders at Pax River Naval Air Station and are stationed on base I'd buy a boat. You will use it a lot. Everyone and their brother has a tacoma on base there.

And a couple of hours west of Washington DC and you can be in the hills of western Virginia and West "By God" Virginia where there are endless outdoor adventures,... some good wheeling, good camping and small stream fishing for trout and small mouth.... And Wash., DC has all the culture and nightlife you could want... Oh, and traffic... Some of the worst in the nation...

I just noticed you are a FE on a P 3... My nephew was also but last year changed duty and is stationed in Washington and doing Honor Guard duty now... I grew up just outside of DC (escaped from the suburbs to the mountains of WV) and I think duty in the Washington area would have advantages and disadvantages but it would definitely be a worthwhile place to experience... Good luck to ya dude...
