    That thread derailed quickly.

Regarding cutting zip ties: don't cut them (that creates a very sharp edge), just tuck the end away

I don't care if you trust me now, but you will remember when you cut yourself on your trimmed zip tie

Not if you cut them flush with the piranha nippers.

    edit: Or the squid beak.

    that's what flush-cutters are for!

$4, but a lifetime warranty. buy once, and you're good.

Real professionals use a zip tie gun that cuts them flush and there's no chance of sharp edges.

Assuming you can't get your hands on piranha flush cutters.

lol, half the time i can barely get the side-cutting flush cutters where i'm putting them. using that tool would be an exercise in futility. "sorry boss, need to pull the entire cab off this western star, should only take me 3-4 more days, i need to use my zip tie gun."

I've found a few circumstances where they won't fit, but generally they work just fine. I've actually have had good success when I could only barely reach the zip tie.

all my hf sets have been warrantied out once, so technically i'm at $2 a pair so far!

i've had major multi-month-long issues with reps taking forever to warranty milwaukee hand tools in the past, or home depot just outright refuses to warranty with the on-hand stock(they tell me i need to ship/mail it in to milwaukee warranty service and maybe in 6 months i'll get a tool back), so i just stick with harbor freight where i know i can walk in and get a replacement. it's really the major reason i don't run milwaukee hand tools. i can't trust their warranty policy. yes, they're slightly nicer tools, and usually last slightly longer, but they're still going to break.

if it takes more than 3 days, i'm buying a new tool because i don't use tools i don't need, and tools i need sometimes break, but i can't tell the boss or customers i can't work for 6 months until i get that tool back, and milwaukee definitely isn't sending me recompense for their tool warranty process holding onto my stuff for 6 months, though i have considered sending them the bill of my lost hourly rate...

I'll bet it just goes back to the negative terminal on the battery. Just remove it and you should be good.

That wire usually goes to the positive terminal on the battery. It may have been disconnected from it. I would remove the entire wire if it's not being used.
