What's up everyone. My name is Johnny, Im new to the forum...

I'm hoping some of you guys could help a bit..I just bought and 07 tacoma sr5..certified used w/32k miles...Everything seems great I love the truck...But I've noticed when I turn it on it makes a slight hight pitched whistle sound for about 10 seconds then it makes a strange suction/click sound and it stops...It almost sounds like someone was in the car blasting the ac and then turned it off. But no ac was on, it was just me standing outside the car. It doesn't always happen so of course the dealer found nothing..My warranty is almost up so im hoping i can figure out what it is..thanks in advance for any input.

    A) Welcome to TW.

    B) I wonder if it is something to do with the air intake while the engine is cold. Have you noticed that it is only when the vehicle is cold? Some vehicles have a valve that they open that come off of the exhaust manifolds to help heat up the engine quicker. I don't know if our trucks have that or not, but that is the only thing I can think of. No check engine lights??

thanks for the replies! The vast majority of the time it happens when the car is cold...I also have noticed that when Im at a light the car seems to vibrate more then usual. Kinda strange..And no check engine light Craig..It just seems to be running kinda funny..Im gonna take it to the dealership and see what's up...Hopefully I don't get the run around.

yeah im a little frustrated. It was my first experience at a toyota dealership and it wasn't very pleasant. I own an acura TL and I have to say Acura is MUCH better as far as service and friendliness..At least in my neck of the woods. I can't judge an entire company by one day but man...It was no fun. Am I alone im my experience??

$16,000...2007 31k miles, certified used.. In Southern California that's about as cheap as you will see it.
