    It’s all or none.

For example, back in the day you could buy a SR5 with a moonroof. Those days are long gone.

My biggest problem right now is the douche dealers didn’t order loaded OR’s with LED headlights. I’m looking for a silver loaded OR with the $500 LED headlights. Fucking unicorn. Go figure.

I think its the way they are being allocated to regions, I noticed the same in both the AZ region and Chicagoland, tons of loaded TRDs but without the LED option, wonder if there's a parts supply issue.

Yeah, it's the bundling of useless features with the useful ones that's annoying. Obviously different people have different definitions of what's useful, but I think I've used the dual zone like twice, but I use the heated seats most of the winter. I also like the rear parking sonar/camera and the JBL audio. Couldn't care less about most of the other stuff. Don't even care much about the power seats but won't complain about them. Also can take or leave the moonroof.

Probably not worth it to go basic and then try to add the things you like aftermarket.

Just built one with "premium audio" (which isn't the JBL system), dual zone climate control, LED lights, parking sonar (it's the $4,570 package) and it brings the MSRP to $42,630 and you still don't get JBL or heated seats.

That's basically $2K more than my current truck was with fewer options. Maybe inflation accounts for some of that. But fewer options is what pisses me off. Looks like I'm keeping my 2017. No real complaints with it anyway.

In such a small cabin the dual climate control makes almost no sense.

Agreed with the exception that its a bit more refined in control function. I have the ability to set auto, certain temp, etc. Instead of just being stuck with preset settings on a knob.

Shorty here. I like it, I think I'll use the full cab more than the extra foot of bed space, and a 5 ft bed will handle all my needs that I can foresee. If not, hey, it's a truck, tack on a trailer!

If I was going to go for a long bed, I'd have just gotten a full size, in my opinion.

I wanted manual seats :( but, I did really like the android/apple support. And I like the projector beams with HID lights more than LED - if my bulb burns, it's like 20 bucks (or ~75 if the ballast goes too), where as the LED lights are a whole assembly, right? That's the whole headlight needing replacement at like 500 bucks. o_O

No leather seat, entune is a pain in the arse my wife's camry has it with nav and whatnot, android/apple support was a necessity - if I went with a 19 it would have been swapped within a week. Entune can go screw itself - but, with android/apple it's fine. No BSM here, same as you, base OR :) I hate sunroofs though. I do like the dual zone, but I'm okay without it - if we go for a long enough trip to make it worthwhile, we'd just take my wife's way more efficient hybrid instead of my way less efficient trok.

I would have loved to get a full size truck just for the extra cab space but I couldn’t justify it. This is basically my daily driver with light pickup duty. On top of the fact I will probably keep this truck for 10+ years I didn’t trust the ecoboost or cyclinder deactivation for longevity sake. Even though I think you could buy any truck/car today and get 100,000+ trouble free miles. If the tundra got better MPG I would have picked one of those.

I was between the Tacoma and the F150. Well, the ranger, but for how much the ranger was.... Either the 5.0 or 2.7 F150 made way more sense. Just as good mpg as the Tacoma anyhow.

I've always wanted a Tacoma so I figured if I didn't get one, I'd trade in for one within 5 years, no doubt. At least this way I might trade, but also might not.

These different tier packages were put together by Toyota to maximize profit. It seems the incremental price jump is highest from 2019 to 2020 because it has the most changes: 3 additional cameras with 360 camera view, larger infotainment screen with the addition of CarPlay/AA, thicker side windows, power seats, LED head lamps,

You have a gussied up model. Why not keep it?

And keep in mind that trading is always a losing game.

yep I foresee thought I was going to go with a 2.7 ecoboost because on paper they check every box pretty much. But the more I thought about it the more I realized I just needed a small and reliable truck as this is going to be a commuter and minimal truck duty with basically 0 towing.

The cheapest version of the Tacoma they sell here for 2020 is a 3.5L, 6AT, 4x4, AC with steel rims and no options for $37,450.

Crazy considering I looked at Tacomas in 2015 and couldn't justify $38,350 for a DCLB TRD Sport with the 4.0L, 5AT and 4wd.

Just shop around. When looking for a TRD OR DCSB with technology and premium package I found trucks varied in price between my local dealers, $37,600-$43,600. All the same dealer install options. I purchased from the dealer that was giving the lower price. They also offered a full lifetime warranty that they will honor at any dealership, not just their franchises.

Toyota is making the TRD like the Limited and charging for it . They add stuff to get you to I can't live with out it and trade up . My 17 is loaded ( no leather) and I'm keeping it for a least 6 more years . Why was you thinking of getting the 2020 ? GL .

I leased the 2017 so exploring options. Buy out is best right now, but if I could trade for a 2020 of similar build without "negative equity" then it might be worth considering. Right now, however, pretty sure I'm just going to buy out.
