Fair point. You can't get one without the other.

Not the package I was looking at. Maybe a different one does.

Technology usually lowers prices over time. Although some of the new technology like the TSS probably added to the cost and it's not something I remotely even want.

At no additional cost? That'a a load of crap. And it only helps encourage idiots to pay even less attention to what they are doing - DRIVING. This shit is going to end up killing more people than it saves. At least until the robots completely take over and we no longer drive at all.

For 2020 heated seats come with the automatic climate control, and Premium Audio comes with automatic climate control. Found that out while researching my 2020 build as I was bummed about heated seats, but to my surprise. Pic below, the automatic climate display is between infotainment and climate knobs. The button on each side of the display are the seat heater controls. Cloths seats mean it is without the Premium Package (leather, sunroof, etc..)

Looking back at a 1997 Tacoma who would have thought that there would be a technology package that offered more than power windows and maybe a compass available on a Tacoma?

Toyota may as well build a Camry with a bed on it, at least it would have rear disk brakes.

You hit the nail on the head right there. I too couldn't care less about dual climate control...or a radio/stereo/JBL or whatever music system...but I would pay big $$ for heated seats and power outside mirrors.

Trust me...Toyota is VERY WELL AWARE of how they "lump" their packages together...2 or 3 good options mixed with a bunch of crappy options. Anybody remember record albums...or CDs for that matter?? There were only 2 or 3 good songs on any given album/CD...the rest were crappy "filler" songs...there were rare exceptions, but it's the exact same thing!

Seriously? That blows. I was really between the 4 banger and v6. Ultimately I ended up with the crew cab so forced my hand to the v6, but that 4 cylinder is a great little engine. A little under powered but hey, so is the v6 anyway so whatever.

And I for one specifically bought the 2018+ so I could have it. Adaptive cruise was the goal, and the only times I've been annoyed by it were my own damn fault (using on roads and slower roads that Toyota specifically states its not designed for, now for those I just use the constant speed cruise instead).

the adaptive cruise is the best thing since sliced bread. I have a 2020 TRD OR with no extra packages and I think the adaptive cruise and pre collision system are pretty good and I can’t see why someone wouldn’t want them. I don’t use the lane departure that much and the auto high beams don’t work perfectly but I still always use them just in case I accidentally forgot to turn my high beams off when there is on coming traffic.

I completely forgot about the auto high beams. Again the same problem has been I just haven't had the application. I will soon I think, but around here everything is lit up and/or slow speeds. It's why I don't use ect mode, fastest speed limit is 35 and it holds it in a low gear way too long at those speeds for my liking. But yeah I'm a fan of it too, just haven't had a chance to actually put it to the test to see if it's a good system or not.

    A few.
They already did that with the first gen tundra. At least according to consumer reports.

I saw the sticker increase when I was at the dealer the last time. About 45k for a 20OR with options. I paid 39otd for a loaded out 18 auto off-road. Sticker was around 42. Only option I don’t have is roof rails. Every manufacturer has increased a good deal in base price because of all the nannies they “include” now.

I was in the market for a Tacoma summer of 2019. Hearing all the comfort changes for 2020, i waited, and waited and waited. Disappointed by Toyota release of specs/prices for 2020 models in the fall. Power seats, LED headlights, MTM, etc does not warrant $6000. I ended up getting a 2019 OR DCLB with premium pkg for $38k OTD. That $6000 extra if I had bought a 2020, it went to Kings 2.5, Camburg UCA, Icon RXT, and a set of SCS BR6 with tires instead.

I wonder if the Chicagoland region isn't ordering LEDs for winter reasons.

Maybe, there's a few fully loaded ones, $46k MSRP that are out there, but majority are without. Tacoma's aren't real big in this area though, its RAV4, Highlander, Camry, Corolla, Prius land. Tundras are a VERY rare site.
