Man Tacoma world is making me find problems with my truck! lol Mine definitely isn't an arctic blast like some say.

Just for reference i have a 25 minute drive from work to home. This afternoon it was 92 with 90% humidity. I had the air on "low" auto(full blast) with recirculate on and at no point was i "cold" after 25 mins. I was comfortable after it got the heat out.

Is that most peoples experience in hot humid areas?

Also i have darkest legal tint.

Once again, reading that my experience/ perception is different from other members for a mass produced vehicle - interesting.

My AC cools off my truck quickly on hot humid days when my truck has been sitting in direct sunlight for hours and hours.

Maybe because I have an access can (smaller cabin area)?

Maybe because my truck is quicksand (lighter color reflecting back solar rays)?

Maybe because I have a basic system (no dual climate control)?

Maybe because I always roll down the windows and blast just the fan for a minute or two driving away to dissipate the heat before rolling the windows up and switching on the AC?

We recently had some work done on the AC of another vehicle we own, so I know it's relatively easy for a mechanic to check a system to see if it is working properly.

I laughed last night when we were going somewhere and my wife had a sweater on and a towel on her lap and her vents closed. This AC works twice as good as my '08 did!

Florida here, humid and horrible swampass inducing 90 humidity/90 degrees all month and my AC cools great.

Just takes a few minutes to get freezing cold.

    Window tint helps for sure.

Yea I pressed the AC button. I did however have the fan on half way. Maybe I need to have the fan on high that may make a difference

At idle mine blows nice and cold. As soon as I pull away from a stop the a/c bows warm. After a little time at speed it returns back to nice and cold. Seems like I’m being picky however in stop and go traffic the cabin never gets comfortable. I noticed this on a 95degree day. Currently it’s 109 and I have to say the ac is a disappointment.

On a road trip where your at speed for long periods of time I’m sure it would be great. But I was just out and about running errands and it never really got comfortable. Started off with the truck in the garage. So it’s not like I was trying to cool it down from sitting in the sun.

For what it’s worth I have only had the truck since March and it only has 2,600 miles on it.

Ugh! I was hoping to avoid the damn dealership. I have no experience with any of the Toyota service departments in Vegas.

Absolutely no issues on my 2018, nor did I have problems with my 2012. Living in North Texas (yes it's humid here) sometimes when I get in the truck I can't touch the steering wheel or other interior parts or I'll burn my hands. Many people carry gloves which looks really odd to see someone driving with gloves on when it's 101 degrees. All that considered, starting with a truck that you could fry and egg on, seems like I can hang icicles from your nose in about 5 minutes. I don't think I've ever run the AC full blast for more than 2-3 minutes.

Suggest OP get the system check out.

Check your cabin filter. Mine was clogged after a year. Lots of dust and debris. A/C blows ice cold now.
