086.jpg So the brakes on my 2012 DCSB 4x4 are the most grabby/touchy i've ever driven. Been to the dealer twice and they say all is normal...something to do with the TRD offroad crawl control RAC? Think they said Electro hyd assist-VS-numatic assist brakes? anyone have the same issues and if so is there any remedies to this? Its most noticeable at slow stops or sudden braking in parking lot stuff. thinking of changing brake pads and or rotors to help? Thanks for any info.

TRD Off-Road gets A-TRAC which means you have an electronically controlled hydraulic brake booster. This thing actually IS normal.

I don't know that disabling it is an option. I mean, you have the equipment. If there's a fuse for the EBC then maybe, but your brakes might be even funkier after doing that.

No way to adjust it AFAIK.

I wish my TRD sport had the OR brake booster. I actually prefer the strong grab

My dealer said it was normal also. So does everyone else on TW. I got used it over time and as I my foot got more sensitive to it, braking got easier. I will however be looking for slotted rotors and upgraded pads, etc when the time comes. Hoping it will help, but I'm not optimistic it will help the way they feel.

So it appears there is no isolated fuse for the A-TRAC sytem. I may do a little experiment with slotted rotors and different pad compounds...If its anything like my MT-Bike pad compound can make a big diff in feel and grab.

    May the games begin!

Does anyone know if it's possible to purchase an OR brake booster and put it on a sport?

Not possible..... anything thats not an 09+ TRD OR 4x4 does not have the proper computer to run the electric boosted master cylinder.

OP be greatful you have this master cylinder, its capable of 2x the line pressures of the vacuum assisted setup on any other model, its provides SO much better of a brake pedal feel its not even funny. Your foot will get used to it REAL quick, then if you go and drive a normal vacuum assisted truck you will go what the hell where is my stopping power.
