its one thing to do it at the track but all these douches we are talking about do it on public roads daily.

There are several AF guys who live in base housing and drive 4 mins to work and 4 mins home...dont own any land or tow anything...why?!

Funny part is, most of the people that blow smoke have than tune on there and their truck is so slow!

All the people and kids with insane disiel tuners that are blowing black smoke everywhere are gonna keep the dealers busy cause I doubt hardly any of them use a turbo timer and probably don't know why it's important to monitor they're egt's. Those turbos are gonna leak and explode eventually.

This is pretty sickening. These are the kinds of people that give diesel a bad name, and is why we wont ever see a diesel for the Tacoma. All the progressive technology to make them cleaner, then these dumbasses purposely doing this.

If they're driving around town that turbo is gonna sooo hot. It takes at least 5 minutes at idle to cool properly. And shutting down a turbo'd truck right after running it hard will rob the turbo of cool oil since the oil pump isn't running and it takes longer than people think for the impeller to actually stop spinning.

But ya your definitely right about the heads blowing and leaking. Thy happened to my buddies truck lol

AT the end, "HAHA I have my check engine light on, whatever that means?" What an idiot, idk maybe all of your oil burning up? People are ridiculous. Same with all the kids that have huge fullsize trucks that don't need them, people give me shit for my taco all the time and I just tell them, I'm 150 pounds, 5' 10" and design websites, what the hell do I need a full size truck for?

well jets are ALWAYS breaking! and the turbo IS the engine on a jet...not just a small part of a much bigger engine.

Technology in turbos hasn't really changed too much. Designers have added waste gates and come up with varibale geometry turbos but the cold and hot housings are generally still made out of the same materials. And a jet engine consists of a compressor but it's still completely different because it has a cooling system, fuel system and is itself an engine, not a component.

If I owned a turbo'd vehicle of any kind I would still put a turbo timer on it and make sure it had cooled off enough before shut down and would just be careful with the pressures.

Ya but I've only seen those on heavy equipment and big rigs. But you should always let the turbo spool down because it continues to spin for quite some time after shut down. And without oil pressure you bearings won't get any lube.

I the hole diesel truck thing is stupid. Don;t get me wrong i like trucks and all, but you don;t need a diesel truck just for driving around. Most of the kids that got my high school are fairly privileged and have never been told no. It was hard to find someone to talk to without hearing someone talk about oh i need this accessory to make me look more redneck. Who cares you will just damage your truck even more. If i was to get a diesel truck I would be doing some small scale transportation of machinery cattle and some other things. I don't have a truck now i am using a small little Honda to transport myself to and from school while saving up money so I can rebuild an old truck. I always half to remind people its not the the thing you driver or the clothes you where that make you a redneck. Its the work. My grandad always told me a redneck was a man who worked his behind off just to make a little money. But the best thing in the world is when they mess up on something on their truck they come to me because i have the manuals and sometimes can diagnose somethings, but I am no diesel mechanic. I just figure things out as i go along looking online and constantly looking at the manual.
The hole rolling coal thing is stupid. I was told that can actual lessens the life time of you truck. So to sum it all up I think it is just to prove something I don't know what but something.

I still remember in high school, a friend had a bunch of land by the river that was fun for off roading and general shenanigans. Everybody down there had some form of a heavy ass diesel truck and I had my little 4x4 frontier. One day we wanted to have some fun in the mud after the river receded after a heavy rainstorm. One dodge 2500 tried and as soon as it broke the barrier between wet and dry ground it sunk like a stone and got stuck instantly. My little Frontier didn’t get stuck all day. Just drove around skating on top of everything. Never got shit for my truck again after that day.

The diesel douchebag epidemic is real in Houston. Tons of these douches driving like assholes cutting people off, cutting in line at red lights. I can keep going
