In the meantime, I’d change the filter. Cheap, easy, and just might be your problem

I agree. I was going to change the oil and filter and put Mobil 1 in it just so I know what oil I'm running until I figure out whether it's actually running hot or it's either the sensor or OBD Fusion's calc.

I’m tracking PID: Toyota, Lexus, Scion | Engine | Engine Oil Temperature. Does that match what you’re tracking? I tend to run 180-200, or 225 when really warm.

I don’t have an oil temp gauge on my taco. But it seems like the more efficient car I have the higher the oil temp. My 2007 328i oil temp 250, 435i oil temp 260, now M4 oil temp at 190 in sport + and 240 in efficient.

These are great references. I've seen similar differentials between sport and economy mode in other cars as well. I'm not seeing it across Tacomas yet however. Most seem to run under 220 from what I can tell.

Out of curiosity where is the temp sensor located?
I would assume some ware close to the output of the oil pump

No oil lines, only coolant hoses that run into the cooler. Might be difficult to shoot anything w/o pulling the skids.

I've only looked during a cold start and found during light driving that the oil warms up faster than the coolant.

Have any of you guys figured out how to have the OBD Fusion app open automatically when it connects to your truck?

I'd love to be able to get in and crank the truck and have the app open, but I just can't seem to figure out how to get it work.

I have an old iPhone I keep in the truck just as a monitor, stupid thing goes dead because it's trying to sync all the time. I can't even figure that one out lol. There's some Auto connect settings in fusion but I'm not sure if they do much of anything

I have my software set to auto connect, but I do have to launch the application. It connects and opens my preferred dashboard.

Android? You'd need something like Tasker (paid version). You could configure it to open OBD Fusion when it detects the bluetooth connection to the headunit in the truck.

Sigh.... Android does have a few cool things. I wonder if ifttt might do something like this for iPhone.
