I recently purchased my first Taco and am looking to start modifying it for offroading. What's everyone favorite/most beneficial modifications?

4xinnovations. $280 shipped, but you will need to weld them on. They've saved my truck from trees multiple times already. We have tight trails here in Washington and I wouldn't take a new truck wheeling without them.

ONE OF US. ONE OF US.
Probably look into some wheels/tires depending on your needs. I'm going to go with the SCS F5s/KO2s here shortly.

I was hoping for bolt on but that price sure is appealing... do they come coated at all?

I suggest you start out slowly with small items like tint, lights ,etc. Then that will give you time to see other trucks and ideas for larger ideas. Such as wheels, tires, bumpers. The one thing I always start out with is the cap. Not everyone needs or likes them. To answer your question it sox be new sterio head, amps, speakers, woofer

Yeah, a cab isn't for me. Sliders are high on the list as well as some of the RCI undersheilds. Bumpers, wheels/tires, winch, are all on the list but much further out on the list. Has anyone on here installed the BodyArmor Sport Rack?

i see you have a MT. in that case there's only one answer in my mind for any of these 6cyls whether on road or off. unless for some reason you don't think your motor drives like crap, that is...

Wheels and tires, nothing else makes as dramatic a change.

Nope...most places charge hundred or so to powder coat. I painted mine with a layer of POR15, sanded them down a bit, used self etching primer and then rattle canned them because I knew I would be touching them up every once in a while from trail rash.

The truck is quite capable in completely stock form, hence sliders were the first thing I did. I will get skids eventually but I want to reroute my Y pipe first for more ground clearance.

I have to agree, I'm really happy with it over all so far (other than the brakes, they're garbage)
