Yeah, I get that. I bought it on a whim, and then figured out I should have bought one 30 years ago...

I've never been to any of the ones west of the Mississippi, so my list would be subject to change. I'd love to go to Yosemite.
Of the ones I've been to, my favorite is the one I live closest to: Great Smoky Mountains N.P. I've hiked the section of the Appalachian Trail that passes through it (72 miles)
The others I've been to are all tied for second place:
    2- Shenandoah National Park
    2a-Everglades National Park
    2b-Acadia National Park
    2c-Cape Hatteras National Seashore
    2d-Cape Canaveral National Seashore

On our recovery day at the bottom we caught a resupply mule train come down and cross the black bridge. That was pretty cool. On the way up a group of mule riders passed. Mules are friggen huge

Denali. If you’re lucky enough to win the lottery to drive the entire road back, it’s absolutely stunning!

Olympic National Park, WA. The sea stacks are amazing. I recommend 2nd beach, Rialto beach, and Ruby beach. The below is Ruby Beach.bluebeach.jpg

You lucky dog! I looked into the lottery deal but never acted on it.
I was fortunate enough to ride the Touron Bus into Denali. Certainly not the best way to see the interior of the park, but it was worth every minute!

Grand Canyon (particularly the north rim), Yellowstone and Yosemite.

For those that mentioned Banff/Jasper. I find the Canadian interpretation of a national park is quite a bit different than the US interpretation.

I only have the data points of Banff and Jasper but seeing as though you're on 395, calling South Lake Tahoe or Mammoth Lakes as-is a national park. Appears to be fully functioning towns surrounded by great views, but missing things I'd expect in a US park like ranger led programs for kids or adults, specific mapped hiking trails to see specific famous/popular stuff, no sense of visitor center or other facilities I normally see in a national park.

That is interesting. I would imagine that the designation "Provincial Park" would include protections for environment, wildlife, ect. Sounds like a different ballgame up there.

They're both officially designated "National Parks" by Canada so I imagine it includes all the protection stuff. There's a highway that runs between the two which includes Lake Louise and Moraine Lake (both must sees) and a place that does a glacier tour. Also a must do.

Somebody mentioned Glacier, also awesome. And for anybody going to Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons (and Jackson Hole) should also be visited.
