Was out today in Sarasota bay and got my Pro Angler 12 flipped by a manatee. Almost shit myself.

Small world. I'm in Sarasota as well. The manatees have been very active lately.

Yeah man, I love the fishing in the bay but definitely had to take a breather after that. I must've bumped my mirage drive fins into it while it was resting or protecting its calf. Scary stuff nonetheless.

Inflatable ... Gets me down the river and fits in my truck bed under my gear. Blue falcon means "buddy fucker" in the military... Figured it suited a boat that tries to flip me at least once every time I'm fishing

That's what I have. Actually, I just bought my Tacoma two weeks ago. I had a Tundra and got the Thule xsporter adjustable rack for it, and, fortunately, can use it on the Tacoma with just the purchase of some adapter clamps for about $60. Those are on order. When I get it all put together I'll post a pic. I've got an old sea kayak that I bought in 1986 called a Mariner II.

Finally getting the gen 3 together. After many years I'll hopefully be able to upgrade to a hobie or old town sit on soon.20170702_183021.jpg 20170702_200722.jpg

Looks great! I sometimes wish I had gone with the fold down style J-racks but they were so much more expensive at the time I was researching it. Maybe I didn't look enough into it though.

But here's my setup. Roof rack and J-racks. The kayaks are the Sun Dolphin Aruba 8 and Aruba 10. The 8 is my wife's while the 10 is mine. I'm new to kayak fishing so I wanted to go on the cheaper end to start out. It has been great. It's incredibly stable and has plenty of space for now. I'll eventually upgrade but for now it's perfect for my uses.

I have an Ascend 12T. I bought a Lund bed extender.

When im on the water I take the extender apart and put it in the back seat.

What is the rack system you are using, if I may ask?

The j bars are an older Thule hulaport carrier. The roof rack is a prinsu rack.

I like the rack. Had I gone with another cab rack, that or maybe the frontrunner rack would have been high up in the list of candidates.

Did you have to do any drilling for the Prinsu?

It goes into the factory roof rack holes. No drilling required for double cabs.

Nope. Just a breather for the flux capacitor.

Cheap $20 j racks I bought off Amazon and husky ratchet straps (4 of them) to tie it down. Just wrapped the cheap foam that goes around the j racks with electrical tape yesterday so they don't come off and last longer. I've hauled both the green and orange kayaks (both 10 footers) on the hwy at 75-80mph without issue multiple times
