I actually topped off my tank because I had just changed the tires - I don't normally top off at five gallons lol. Haven't gotten that kind of mileage since. Same driving habits. Was a total anomaly. Same gas station every fill up too. I use Fuelly and another app to log my odometer reach fill up so I know the calculation was good.

One thing I do is always keep it at 1k-1.5k rpms during city driving and I get 18-19mpgs then and I calculate when I fill up and use my ultra gauge, I tried using fuelly but just couldn't really get in to it

The light comes on somewhere around 3 gallons left in the tank (18 gallon fill up). That would mean about 17.5-18 mpg.

I'm getting about 16-17 in mixed driving with mine with supercharger added and heavy tires. I got 18-21 before supercharger, 17-20 after, and dropped to 18 on the freeway after the tires.

I think you're on to something with the overdrive. The Civic and Tacoma both have 5 spd autos, but the Civic has 2 overdrives. A mild overdrive in 4th (.721) , and a very tall overdrive in 5th (.525). The Tacoma overdrive (5th gear) is the same ratio as the Civic's 4th gear.

The light comes on with 4 gallons in the tank (17 used)... the needle is over the E Line with 3 gallons in the tank (18 used).

There is a post where I give the gallons used/remaining at each point on the fuel gauge.

This was after a discussion when we were getting a lot of "XX miles per tank" without any idea of what a "tank" is to the poster. Obviously he wasn't driving until he ran out of gas, which really is a tank to refill (21 gallons).

    FULL: 21 GAL
    3/4 LINE: 16 GAL (5 to fill)
    1/2 LINE: 12 GAL (9 to fill)
    1/4 LINE: 8 GAL (13 to fill)
LIGHT ON: 4 GAL (17 to fill)
    E LINE: 3 GAL (18 to fill)

I recently cleaned throttle bottle, air filter, MAF sensor, new plugs and get 20mpg in town. What plays the biggest factor that I've noticed is the throttle. I never tramped on it. Just feather it. I see an upcoming red light I let off completely and coast to it. If I'm always on the throttle I'm 16-17 mpg. I am 4x4, DC, Lifted, plate bumper, rock sliders, over sized tires. Considering all my mods I think I'm getting great mpg.

Second tank of gas since buying new. Got 21.5 MPG. Will need to monitor over a longer period of time but I was pretty happy with that.

    Too few to list.
4x4 auto completely stock should be averaging around 17-19 with mixed driving. The auto does better hwy due to gearing and if driven lightly under 2K rpms should see 22+ hwy. Completely stock 6 speed does about 20-21hwy under 2K rpms. City driving is around 16.

17 highway with speed over 70

I've managed 21 on highway with cruise set at 65 (@2000 rpm), but with speed limits on the interstate/highways here in Maine now at 70, I set cruise at 75 now.

Winter sucks because of starting & running the engine (0 mpg) early in the morning before the commute to work.

'14 DCSB Sport 4x4 with the 6 speed. Mileage is tracked and logged each fill up though I no longer use Fuelly as it was too much of a pain.

Right now I'm averaging around 18 mpg, but that's with a mix I can only describe as being equally rural highway, interstate, gravel road, and city mileage. My last tank was 16.8 MPG on roughly 280 miles(going from memory), including at least 40 miles of nasty gravel road at low speed with 4wd and 4wd low use. One thing that really separates this truck from my previous fullsize v8 pickup is off pavement fuel economy is usually at least 15 mpg, or 50% better.

Out on the open interstate I can see upwards of 20 if I keep the speeds under 75, 22 if I keep it 65 or less on the 2 lane highways. Best tank I ever had was 24.5 and I traveling around Yellowstone at an average speed of 45 to 50 mph between stops. I'm convinced the aerodynamics of this truck work against it at higher speeds. Of course the higher ground clearance than just about anything else makes it worth it. With how I use my truck I'm pretty sure the front air dam that's way too common on newer designed trucks would have been ripped off long ago.

    Just me
After changing diffy/t-case oil to synthetic I ran 115 mile loop @ 65/70 mph to Big Lake (AK) and got 22.7 mpg. Can't wait for a longer hop.
In winter, Autostart warmups, around town normally get 13/14 mpg.

    All stock DCLB, 4x4.

Full Mobil 1 synthetic and using 91 octane I'm getting about 15mpg mixed but I bring it up to 3k often and I'm turning 33's with about an extra 150lbs at all times. I can get 18 no problem as long as I keep it under 2k though.
