Just took a 1750 mile road trip. Averaged 18-19 MPG through TX and OK and right around 16 through AZ. Is it just me or does cruise control significantly drop your MPG when driving through hills?

It absolutely does. The cruise control will maintain speed at all costs, even if that means 4-5k RPM.

Don't use cruise unless it is flat, do it yourself. It doesn't know there is a hill coming up until it is already slowing down. Then it has to over compensate with gas to stop slowing down and get back to the speed it was at.

Not to mention the cruise control on these trucks is crap.

Filled up my 15 DC 3 times now. Average out to 20.1, rural driving mostly with a little city and some highway. Happy with this.

Only? That's pretty high for these trucks actually. The rated 21hwy is garbage.

I have a 2008 DCSB Trd Sport with a 3" OME lift and 265/75/16s (Firestone Destination AT) and since 3/8/15, I'm averaging 18.7 mpg with a mix of country roads/interstate/some suburbia (not really city) driving.

One thing I did notice was that after I changed the rear differential fluid I saw about a 1 mpg jump in my fuel economy. Went with Royal Purple in the rear so not sure if it's bc of that or bc the old fluid was past its prime and/or cheap.

Soon to be grabbing some larger tires to fill out the wheel wells so I'm expecting to lose a little bit of mpg.

This and this. 2000 mile road trip, got 16.5 through the CO mountains with CC on. Next tank I took CC off and got 18.5 through the CO mountains. All loaded with gear and on 265/75/R16s.

I do around 14.5mpg maybe 16mpg on the highway in the city. I think the best out of a full tank driving like a grandpa was around 250mi. is this normal with a 2015 4.0L 4x4 BFG Rugged Terrains 265/65/17?

Depends on how frequently you fill up. I get ~250 miles on a tank but I fill up at 1/4 tank religiously. 2010 on 265/75/r16 Hankook Dynapros at 38 PSI

My 15 DC OR 4x4 has averaged 20.1 for first 3 tanks. Mix of highway, little city and mostly rural driving. That's stock BFG tires.

I do the same. Usually adding 12-14 gallons at reach fuel up. I see like 296 miles on the trip meter when I reset.

Fuelly calls my average 19.1 lately.

I got about 14.5 MPG with mostly city driving on my last tank. New truck with less than 500 miles and also has the supercharger.

My average has dropped a bit, but my last tank was 13.5. Didn't help around 100 of the approximately 200 driven miles were done in either 4 hi or 4 lo.
