So used to being here that I always forget about that. That or my imaginary VTEC is doing its job.

I usually get better mileage on Co vacations, but very little interstate driving, and am not in a hurry on 2-lane highways. MPG in the 21-23 range.

The OP has a 4x4 double cab (as do I), so it is very normal for a Prerunner (4x2) to have higher MPG numbers as they are much lighter in addition to an AC's smaller body.

Well, the 4.88s were a solution for increased throttle response and for maintaining speed on hilly roads, as well as enhancing the lil taco's off road ability. I might POSSIBLY go to a 255/85 but more than likely will do 235/85. For my uses, I don't really need the clearance and appreciate the lower center of gravity. Gear wise, if I were looking at 35-ish tall tires, I'd do 4.88s at a minimum and it wouldn't take too much to talk me into 5.29s.

Most likely would not be cost effective. see math below assuming 15 mpg mix & 17 mpg straight gas. Would need to go from 15mpg to 20mpg to break even.

    Mix Straight
    Gallons 10 10
    mpg 15 17
    Total Miles 150 170

    Cost/Gal 2.49 3.30
    Total Fuel 24.90 33.00

    cost/mile .167 .194

p.s. empty spaces are deleted making harder to read...

I recently purchased a 2009 DCSB 4x4 Sport. Just calculated my first tank and got 18.5mpg. It's stock with 265/70/17 BFG KO2's.

Hmm so it looks like for a 2013 v6 access can prerunner compared to a 4x4 access cab automatic it's only 265lbs diff
so now if I'm getting high 18's low 20's I would probably need to get 23/24 with the real gas to make it worth it ? That'd be crazy a 4x4 4100lb truck getting 24mpg (what prerunners get)

Yeah exactly. Pretty tough financially speaking to boast your MPG by 20% ( when the cost of pure gas is substantially more expensive) when eE10 is 90% gas and 10% ethanol. At the end of the you are only getting 10% more gas per gallon on a pure gas standpoint.

After putting on new tires this past April, I've been averaging between 16-18 MPG. Oddly enough, I averaged nearly 21 MPG on a tank when I was driving through Colorado last month. Maybe the altitude?

I have a 2011 double cab short bed TRD Sport 4x4 with the following: OME 887 coil springs, Bilstein 5100s (front/rear), Light Racing UCAs, Wheeler's HD 1.5" AAL, 18x9 Pro Comp series 7032, Toyo Open Country A/T II (LT285/65R18).

4x4 DCSB 6 speed, 19.3mpg (measured with scan gauge) average right now with 255/85r16's, but I do almost 100% highway. Stop and go driving is considerably more horrible lol.
