Wow, You guys have "owner's meetings"?

I change my oil every 4-5k with synth., I'm doing the diff this week with synth., I doubt I'll wait until the dealer recommended time for the coolant. Probably do it sooner. Replacing my PS fluid with synth. Tranny, probably still do it around 60k.

Well, I just want to say thanks for all the replies.

I just switched to Pennzoil Platinum synthetic and I swear by a lie detector that beyond believing that it runs smoother, it does in fact run smoother and seems easier to rev up. Like it spins more freely.

This is not the perception of someone who is expecting change. I just went synthetic for better protection and better cold starts.

I rarely tow anything or haul more than 500 pounds -- more people hauling than anything -- plus I drive like a sissy so the AT and cooling system will be serviced at 100k miles. I plan to replace the diff gear oil at 75k. Engine oil and filter changes usually around 4-4.5k depending on my schedule and free time. BTW I am the 2nd owner and the official Toyota owner's website (http://www.toyotaownersonline.com/) shows my truck's first complimentary oil & filter change was done at 6922 miles. Yikes! Almost 7k miles on the factory engine fill! I've owned it for one year as of Aug 29, it now has 50k and runs great and does not use any oil so I'm not worried anymore.... besides, it's a Toyota. :)

I know that the 5sp Automatic takes WS. This stuff has been typically run in sealed transmissions.

The 4sp Automatic takes T-IV. (Use Castrol Multi-Vehicle Import ATF)

The manual tranny typically takes a gear lube.

Read your owners manuals, it'll tell ya.

    My Ride:
Oil Change - Whatever comes first 3mo/3K is the main thing. More likely the 3 months will comes first. Might decide to just go every 4 months though, only 3 times a year. I don't drive a ton.

Trans & Diff - Will be changed at the begining of every year. Why you might ask. I say why not. Take better care, get better results.

Coolant - Wishy washy on this one. 10yr/100K is a very long time. Haven't really decided what I'll do here.
