I also have a '56 Bel Air 2 door wagon... I've only ever seen two others in person. Body is straight as can be and everything is numbers matching, but its 265 and 2 speed... I would love to restore original, but its going to be very tough. I want to make a cruiser out of it. Small block, 400ish horse, auto, give it some new suspension and just drive.[/QUOTE]

If you are planning on restoring the 56 and need parts, contact Brads Classics in Hindsboro, IL 217-346-2813. He should have most of the parts you need. I use to work for him, a long time ago, and he had a city block full of 55,56,57 Chevys. I use to remove trim/interior pieces and he has a couple buildings and semi trailers full of parts.

My '71 Super Beetle. It's my project car, it's my first car (bought in '96, so almost 18 years ago), and it was the "getaway" car at our wedding in August 2011 after I built a new engine for it that summer.

Had to buy this one because I never seen one in this good of condition, n I go to all the vw Audi shows in the northeast and this is the cleanest one I've seen. Trying to keep it stock and unmolested.

this one needs new oil pan seal, front and rear crank seal, water pump, and also putting in a new tranny.

this one needs the rear end fixed. making loud whining noise. coming from the rear end. thinking ring and pinion is going out but we'll see once i tear into it.

both are money pits but like i tell my wife. its either this addiction or drugs :p
