Just got mine in the mail. Bay area CA, '13 Tacoma $371.

 

$24 every two years in South Carolina for the registration fee. In addition to the registration fee we paid taxes based on the value of the vehicle.

 

Depends on the county, in Harris county (Houston) it's $40, my reg is $256

 

I'll gladly switch with you guys for your 300 or more for your reg., for my $4,100 school tax.

 

$24 is the state portion. In Memphis, for a basic vehicle registration, both the city and county have a "wheel tax", which gets the total up to $105.


We do not have state income tax, except on some dividends.
Property taxes can be high, depending on your city/county. There is no separate school tax, but state sales tax is 7%, plus local option (again city/county) can be up to 2.75%.


All states get you some way or another.

 

I big portion of our property taxes in Colorado go to schools as well. And now that we have weed taxes, that supposed to fund our schools. I'm not sure what % of property tax goes to the schools, and I think it changes based on the school district you live in.

Our's went up in a big way about 5 years ago when they added new taxes to the registration and renewals for bridge and road repair IIRC.

 

Mine last year was 365 I think.
33 for the registration, and the rest is tax.

 

Around $90 with my custom license plate for my 03 Tacoma, and about the same for my '98 4runner with a standard plate .


Back when I lived in oregon it was like $45 for 2 years for my (then) new truck. Talk about a deal!

 

KY - $220 here for an '06.

 

Ohio: $135.00 for 2 years, including new plates
Plates are not required to be replaced unless they are unreadable (I buy new plates when I buy a new vehicle)
No ECheck where I live (7 out of 88 counties have ECheck)
No safety inspection
No additional charges for vehicle value or weight

In 2 years, I will renew my plates and driver's license at the same time and location

I was mugged for $355 this year in SoCal on my 2011. I do miss that in Texas is was about $80. My bike was like $38! In Cali my 5-year old GSX-R1000 is $158!

Here in West Virginia, as a disabled vet, my license plate sticker is only $15 for ten years. Just renewed my drivers lic. today, it was $18.

 

Just paid $333 in CA

 

$302 in Vegas last year.

 

I love Arizona for the reason we don't have to renew our drivers licenses until we are 65.
