About $50 in Va. incl extra $5.00 as it's got an open bed, which defines it as a Truck, which can haul stuff with a gross weight of over 4000#. [If it is a 4Runner, it is rated on EMPTY weight as a closed cab, even though it can gross over 4k# too and you pay $45.00. Whatever...]
Also pay property taxes in Va based upon declining value, but it's separate billing; they link the registration process with your tax payment; no pay, no/suspended registration.

Nick, unless there is another Richmond, I think we're in the same county. I'm in Madison county just not in Richmond.

KY also, paid in May (cause they do the birthday month thing as if they are doing you a favor)

Kentucky state property tax was not more than $100. I think the state property tax is less than $100 and the registration fees weren't more than 20 or 30 dollars.

The killer for me is the city taxes. The city taxes cost me more than the state tax and registration. Throw in the fact that on top of county schools our city has an independent school. It cost me close to $300 to register my '13 which thankfully the state values it less than what it's worth.

Oh yea, it's definitely the big city of Louisville doing all the money grabbing. I didn't have to pay near as much when I was living in a county of 10k people.

Just renewed the wife's car $50 for two years. I think the thread is about registration not everything else, I could be wrong though.

I guess they need to help pay for things like the KFC Yum Center. Oh and maybe ensure that there is always some sort of roadwork on I-65.

Well I don't think registration costs more than $50 in most states. A lot of us just want to vent about paying property taxes and other miscellaneous taxes.

Paid $225 when I bought the truck here in NY. Not sure if being a NYC resident has anything to do with it and I also got new plates.

$690 for my 2014, here in Colorado. It's based off the value of your vehicle, so at least it goes down every year.

Just got the renewal notice for mine. It would have been $345.
