As I wait for an allocation to pop for my DCOR, I am looking for things to start getting together now. Our goal is to have an off-road, mostly trail riding vehicle. We live in Washington state and what a vehicle that can take us to weekend trips and trails in the state. We are going to do some basic modifications (TRD-Lift, Skid plate, etc.) mostly because we are getting a lot more ice and snow at out house lately.

So the ask is what do you keep in your truck for trail riding?

Shovel - Something like an infantry entrenching tool
    Water
    Emergency Blankets
    First Aid Kit

Also, what are people using to store these things in their trucks? I’d like something easily removable, like a drop in box or something because during the rest of the time, this will be a cargo hauler while we go through some home renovations.

We realize that we are getting more truck than we need for most of this, we get it, but I need something to modify and mess with in the downtime…

I bring a little alcohol stove and an MSR dromedary bag.

Water freezes but it also melts. I'd rather be with frozen water than no water at all.

Just one? Always a good Idea to bring a spare or two for your campmates. Unless you're really nice and don't mind sharing with your bros.

Whats mine is theirs! Bringing two+ just seems to negate the tread lightly rule!

Things I keep in my truck:
    - Shovel
    - Chopping axe
    - Hand saw (15” Craftsman - cleared a trail by myself with it just yesterday)
    - Tow strap
    - Blankets
    - Ratchet Straps
    - D Ring Shackles
    - Tire pressure gauge and a small tire pump

I usually just keep this stuff in my truck (some mounted in the bed - axe and shovel - the rest in the various storage compartments in the truck).
