So I have 99' SR5 and I recently ordered the 3" toytec lift(didn't install yet) I need to get new rims and tires. I'm thinking 31's and 15" or 16" rims.... any suggestions??

I'd suggest 16" wheels. That way if you ever want to do the Tundra brake upgrade you won't need new wheels

Welcome to Tw, by the way. Kiss your money goodbye, or lock it in a safe and throw away the key. This site is infectious.

Thank you! For now I look forward to putting some money into this truck, hope to keep it until it falls apart, and then to put it back together once it does!

Nice, if you ever want to build it to the point where you've got armor to the teeth, the brake upgrade will be nice. I think there might also be more tire choices in 16" wheel size. Not entirely sure on that, but I think I read it somewhere. Check SCS wheels. They're a vendor on here and make some beautiful wheels.

I've got 16" wheels (SCS F5) but there are plenty of good 15" options too. Nice truck, what engine does it have?

Your stock rims are 15's and your stock tires are 31's - are you meaning to stay the same size? (totally fine if you do - I did, with a 3" Toytec lift). I'm still running the same stock rims you have in your pic, and I went with these tires, which are awesome, though they have a bit of road noise):

I've got em'. Gotta find time to borrow a higher power welder though and burn em on. Working 50-55hr weeks right now so not much gets done.

Nice truck! He may have 225/75/R15, those were common on 4cyl Tacos from this time too. They are effectively 28"

3" Toytec spacers, Bilstein 5100s in the back with add a leaf and overloads removed.
Either would work. Both seem to have a decent amount of tire availability, I'd probably go 15s though. And why 31s may I ask? You can clear 33s with some trimming.

I have 16x8's w/4.5" of BS. Is that enough for the Tundta brake upgrade?

Man, that's an awesome grandfather! Check out those Duratrac's, they are nice (and they look good on the stock wheels, which will save you some money for your lift :) )

Well I'm not 100% towards getting 31's, would 33s clear with only having a 3" suspension lift?

Just to add fuel to the fire:

My rig (2.7L 4x4 w/ automatic) came from the factory with 31's and, even though the door-jam sticker says 29's.
Everything else on the sticker is accurate, including the 4.56 gear ratio.
