Wheel and Tire Help on 2021 Tacoma Without Lift

Hey guys,

I’ve been researching different wheels and would ultimately enjoy getting new wheels/tires but without rubbing or trimming anywhere. I would like a 17” wheel and I know the biggest tire you can go on that is a 265/70/r17 (just from my research without any experience) without rubbing.

Where I get thrown off is the offset. I’m looking at all these wheels and they have different offset ranges. When people have these bigger wheels and tires, they usually say that the offset throws off the tire just enough to cause rub even on the 265/70/r17s. Again, very new to this so I’d just love some advice.

Looks like the options are 17x9 +1 offset or -12 offset. If not planning on lifting I’d go +1 that basically a 5” backspace which is about the max you wanna go on these trucks. The +1 will give you the least rubbing issue of the two. But If your gonna lift and go bigger then I like the look of the -12 but there are issue with that and would require trimming. The other option is go 17x8 0 offset and your definitely good. So so many choices and things to think of.
