I have a 2017 trd sport dcsb with a manual tranny and in silver meca... I don’t really want to upgrade my suspension but would like to do something different with my wheels and tires sooooo....

Thinking a black wheel but what tire and tire size to keep it close to what it is stock already.... I like my decent gas mileage but am after a all terrain type tire and black wheel since I have blacked everything else out

I am sorry, but, in my opinion black wheels are not different......

color match the truck, now, that would be different

I am putting matte grey Ray 10's on my white truck - don't see that combo much. Would have preferred white wheels, but scarce to non-existant - except do-it-yourself.

I went silver. Black is getting stale.

I'm gonna have to agree. I have the black sema pro wheels on my cement truck but ONLY because I think matte black really shows how cool the cement color is. Otherwise I'd go with polished aluminum wheels or bright silver or gunmetal coated.

I went with the factory size in the Nitto Terra Grappler G2's.

You are correct SDTaco, but look at all the pics on this site with black wheels......some wheel choices are limited to black and 1 or 2 others.

    Just my observation

I think the black wheels look great with the silver. You’re very limited with tire size if you use the stock wheels and don’t lift your sport. I have a 2017 MGM TRD Sport DCSB 4x4 m/t. I found a very reasonable Toyotech lift option that didn’t break the bank and allowed my tire size to go from 265/65/17 stock Toyo’s to 285/70/17 Toyo Open Country R/T. I did replace the factory wheels also. I have the KMC WD MonsterII’s in 17x9. I did a lot of research before I decided.

I have 265/75R/16 Toyo Open Country A/T II currently and am replacing them next week with the same tires - only now OWL ones. VERY happy how they drove in the snow this winter (31,000 miles on them). I will either sell tires/wheels/TPMS or save them till next winter and use them instead of the new Ray 10's.
