Wheel Backspacing and Offset Info

by the numbers(-10 & 4.1 bs) it looks like a 16x8...so I am assuming u have 16x7 w/ 5.25 backspacing on now.....they are going to stick out 2.25 inches further than stock and clear the UCA by another 1.15" as far as the cab mount chop ....every truck is different

 

It's actually a 17x8 wheel

 

Ok...what I said still applies...its just a 17" wheel instead of 16" hope it helps OP

So your confirmation that I got 'em right is good enough for me.
Thinkin' of Postin' 'em up in their own thread so they don't get buried here.
I tried to make 'em simple to understand,
so I think they'd be a benefit to others, trying visualize the Backspace Concept.
The Old "Picture's Worth 1000 Words".
They're still editable, if you have any suggestions to improve 'em.
I figured those three covered enough differences in the backspacing, for comparison.
But I could always add another, if pertinent.

Looking at purchasing 2 inch wheel spacers from all pro.

I have 4.5 backspacing on my kmc enduros...will I have any issues once spacers are installed?

 

That's going to push them out to 2.5 bs. You'll definately rub when turning.

 

What is it going to rub? The uca?

 

With an 18X9 wheel wouldn't a 4.5" bs be more likely to rub the cab mount than a 5" bs? Judging by this picutre it seems if the wheel was pushed out .5" more it would be closer to the cab mount

 

The fender well. The decreased backspacing will make the turning arc larger.

There is a delicate balance between the uca clearance and the cab mount clearance. I've seen 5" bs work on a 9" wide wheel before several times.

 

So 1.5 inch would be safe?

 

1" would be better. I don't know the exact breaking point. It depends in the wheel width, tire sidewall aggressiveness, individual truck, how much trimming you are willing to do, etc.

 

True...I have 265 75 16 nitto terra grapplers...I know some that run this with 1.25 spacers and no issues

 

im sure im kicking a dead horse but just to confirm:

i found some 16x7 steelies that i want to use for other set of tires. the BS is 3.5" are going to set the tire approx 1.75" wider than the stock 16x7's(BS 5.25?)
