Sooooo in theory a 1" spacer would accomplish the same thing as going from a rim with 5.5" bs to one with 4.5"?

Hello guys, 1st post. I have read this thread and understand enough to be dangerous. I will present what I would like to do. I just bought my 1st Toyota Tacoma for the commute economy. It is a 2007 4 cyl. 5 lug auto truck, access cab. It has stock steel wheels which I think I saw had almost no offset. It has brand new Michelin 215 70 15 tires. I am searching for wheels amoung a few other mods to dress it up a bit. my truck is silver and I am an old guy so not liking some of these wheels I see. really want some kind of grey or gunmetal I think. Here is a link to about the only wheel I can find with 5 bolt 0 offset etc. that I think would look ok on my little truck http://www.ebay.com/itm/300695662761?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2648
So if I understand what you guys have been saying in this thread the back space on this wheel would actually be 3.5? Is this going to bolt on my truck with no issue? Are the tires going to be moved way out? The final question that is the biggest if I do this at all. are the new tires on my truck going to mount up on these wheels?
Thanks in advance to your response and kindness
    Terry

Oh sorry one more thing maybe more important than the rest. You guys were talking earlier about center bore. Is that some thing i should be concerned about with my set up? If so I guess this supplier can tell what center bore is for this wheel. What is mt requirement for my small truck?

I'm putting a 3" Toytec ultimate lift on my 2010 Taco. I want to run 285/70/17 BFGS A/T on a 17X8 wheel. What wheel back space should I use if I didn't want to use wheel spacers? PM me please with advice. Thanks guys

You are better of asking in the 5-lug forum. Those guys really know their stuff.

I'm looking at installing an OME lift with LR UCA's. My rim selection specs are 17x8 4.1 bs, and an offset of -10. If i went with 285/70/17 you think i would have to cab chop?

Hello Guys first post. I have read thru this thread and am still not sure what to do. First off I have a 3 inch toytec ultimate lift installed with rear AAL,Diff drop, and axle shims. I have recently purchased some new tires and wheels and am having some issues with rubbing on the cab mounts and front inner fender well that sticks down. The wheels I purchased are Helo MAXX 6 HE791 18X9 with 4.53 BS -12 offset. Not sure if maybe I should have got the 18X9 5.39BS 10 offset if my rubbing issues would be better. The tires I have on these are Nitto Trail Grapplers 285/65/18 they are listed as being 32.83 Dia. and 11.93 wide. Does anyone no what the toytec coils should measure under the adjusting nut for 3 inches of lift. Mine are set at 1.75 inches right now, this was the way they were shipped to me and seemed to give a nice level look after install. Don't mind doing a little trimming but don't want to have to start chopping cab mounts. Not sure if the other rim would help my situation? Thanks in advance for your response any help would be appreciated.

The wheel specs are good. It's not unusual that you would need to chop your cab mounts with that setup. Got to pay to play.

Thanks for the quick response. Would the 5.39 BS +10 offset be better?

No, it would be infinitely worse.

Your UCAs would rub the tires. That, theoretically, could damage the tires, causing them to fail, and if you happen to be driving by a nuclear power plant, you could hit it, and kill all of us. And I don't appreciate being killed.

I have about 1.25 inches before making contact with my upper control arm. From what I understand is that the 5.39 rim would only move my wheel in by about .900 of an inch. Making my sweep angle less.

Im thinking you have mess room than you think, but aside from that, the sweep angle helps with fender well rubbing, but moving those tires in will make the rubbing on the cab mounts even worse I'd imagine,

So if I was to change to a nitto 265/70/17 trail grappler 32Dia 11.2 wide tire. Which rim size would fit best 17X8 -6 offset or 17X9 with 10,-12,or 18 offset.

Would be much cheaper just to suck it up and chop your cab mounts, but if you must change both wheels and tires, the 8" wide one will suit the 265 better.

Would I still have to do trimming and chop mounts with that size?

    Minor trimming if any.
