I know. They're wide. I like the look. Wide stance.

No. They're not very common wheels

I know I'll have to do a BMC. Pound down the pinch weld. And do the wheel well trimming.

I plan on running 305/70/16 BFG all terrain KO2

With them being that wide with that offset and backspace I'm curious if there is anything else I'll need to do. Or if they'll even clear the calipers with that small of backspace.

I'm wanting to install a maxtrac suspension lift on my taco and the kit says I need minimum 17in wheel with 4.75 backspacing. The new wheel that I am looking at has a backspacing of 5.47 and +12mm offset I was wondering if this wheel would work with the kit?

No, you can have no more than a 4.75" BS with a 17 and no more than a 4.5" BS with a 16

Anybody have an answer for mine? I guess I really need to know what the minimum BS is I can do. Is 3.75 to small? Will I have a problem with -44 offset. 16x10 wheel.

I spec'd out my wheels and tires for 2016 DCLB OR.
    - American Racing (AR172 BAJA)
    - BFG TA/KO2 285/70/17

Considering AllPro or ToyTec 3" (2" on 2016) kit.

Q: With this size, do I need 1" body lift in addition to susp lift?
Q: Anyone have experience with these wheels? I assume these are hub-centric and I will need an adapter ring for proper fit?
Q: TPMS - Should I just get wheels and buy tires locally and have dealer transfer existing TPMS to save money? (Will I actually save money ?)

Ok guys, I'm interested in purchasing a set of used rims from another user. My question is how will this setup fit on my 08 double cab. I haven't lifted the truck yet and plan to go with the 3" ome lift. Will these rims for the truck properly? I know that is a huge difference in stock rim setup. Are there major concerns? Ride quality issues?

I got a sweet deal on a set of 285-70-17 mudterrains. A buddy of mine has a set of 17 by 7.5 6 lug by 5.5 with a 15mm offset.
I have a 2.5 inch leveling kit on the truck. Will this fit? I know the tires will fit just not sure about the rims.

Found some wheels 17x8, 5.5 backspacing +25mm offset. Anyone know if they will fit? Problem I have right now is my current wheels don't clear the brake calipers. Any help is appreciated thanks.

Need a little help. I just put on 265/70/17 on my stock sport wheels. I noticed that they were close to UCA i can just get my finger between tire and UCA. Is this a problem ? If so what can i do to fix. Wheel spacer what size.

I've got an 02 double cab and i have some brand new 31x10.50x15 M/Ts i'd like to throw on. I was looking at some pro comp 7069s 15x8 3.75" back spacing but they have an offset of -19mm. I think they might stick out a little too far...unless the 01+ fenders are wide enough to cover that? I read somewhere that the stock offset for a 95 (that came with 15s) was -4 to 20mm so these new wheels would stick out an extra half inch or so but the 95s didn't come with the larger fender flares either.

Any input? These are what I was hoping to go with:

My truck is nearly 10 years old and closing in on 100K... time to give a little back to it for being so good to me, all it has is running boards and cheap brush guard atm... Going to start with wheels and tires. I would like to avoid any lifting. I've just gone through all 36 pages of this thread and then some in the search feature. Seen a lot and learned more than I ever thought I'd need to know about wheels. I started off reading everything, though confusing at first/times, I started to narrow it down to what I'm looking for. I have an 07 TDR Sport 4x4. (265/65R17x7.3 30mm-offset 5.5"bs)

Leaving everything stock and adding wheels/tires - I gather that a size up either way(265/70 or 275/65) should work assuming you get the proper wheel. I also read a couple times that with my model folks have sized up in both areas(275/70) and didn't have any rub issues with stock suspension, body etc and some where they did. And I seen where 265/70 on 17x8's were rubbing on UCAs or mud flaps(which are necessary to prevent slush/ice build up on the running boards). I know there are many variables that play a role in this from rim width/height/brand, actual tire specs, rim bs/offset, lifts, spacers, model etc - and its all here.

After a while I started avoiding posts with rims 9"+ and 7"- wide, 18"+ and 16"- dia, tires 285/75+ and 255/60- just to try and narrow it down for me more. So Im just going to ask:

I'd like to go with 275/70 with 17x8 wheels either 4.5bs and 0ET or 4.9bs and 10mmET. From your experience - if you've had any, will either rim work while leaving everything else stock and having minimal to zero rub with that tire size?

If I have to settle for 265/70 on 17x8 wheels with either the 4.5bs and 0ET or 4.9bs and 10mmET then I will. Again, from experience - if any, which rim gives most clearance in either direction?

Tires I'm looking at are the BFG AT KO2s in either size.
Rims 17x8 4.9bs 10mmET: Ultra Wheel 225SB Phantom black and Ultra Wheel 198B Bolt black; 17x8 4.5bs 0mmET: Pro Comp Alloys Series 89, Pro Comp Alloys Series 01 and American Racing Custom AR172 Baja.

If those sizes would work better with a larger wheel size and different bs/et with stock everything, please let me know - from your personal experience.

Ok I'm back lol. I ended up buying these...

    http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mtt-2360412

However I test fit one and it's a no go! The back of the wheel is hitting the caliper. I'm so frustrated with this! From everything I've read I thought these would fit. HELP!

I made the same tire change on my '07 Sport. Mine were also a finger width from the UCA before I put new wheels on. As far as I could tell the tires never touched the UCA. Crawled under it while the old lady turned the steering wheel...never touched.

    Damn...
A 16x10 is a wide wheel!! Your -26mm offset would've kicked it out pretty far even if it did clear the caliper.
I was worried about my current wheel set up but the folks at discount tire helped me with fitment.
Apples to oranges seeing as I'm in a 1st gen but they really know their stuff.
Are you near any tire shops?

Yes but I'm going to buy my tires from tire rack. I can get a better discount (no pun intended) through them. So I wouldn't want to waste discount tires time.

The offset is big but I don't think would matter. I plan on doing the Cab mount chop and everything to fit the 305/70/16 I'm going to be buying. I just don't understand why they dont fit. I thought since they had 4.5 backspace that I would be fine

    -12 offset

    Thanks.
