Same thing happened to me. There wasn't enough clearance that they hit the calipers. So I just kept 2 for the rear and have 2 OEM ones in the front. Plan on putting spidertrax hub centric spacers on there.

I know it's probably been answered but what rim spec can I run without having to run spacers? I currently have 35 inch cooper stt on the stock trd rim with 1.25 spidertrax

image.jpg Any issues with these fitting a 2015 OR? I believe the current offset is 30 on the 16" OEM wheel and these are 15 on a 17" wheel. Wanting to run 265 70 17. Thanks.

I really like the wide stance on some of these lifted trucks i see driving around. I have an 06 tacoma with a leveling kit and 265/70/17 nitto terra trap tires. I currently have Ultra +10 offset wheels... whats the lowest offset i could go to?

    Looking for any help...

I bought a set of 18"X9" wheels with a +25 offset to have a 'close to stock' fitment for my 2008 TRD Sport. I know the stock 17" wheels are 7.5" and have a +30 offset. I plan on sticking close to OEM diameter on tires with a 265 60 R18.

By my calcs, it would possibly be 14mm (.55") closer to suspension components, primarily raising a concern of the rim getting too close. I don't know fitment yet since the wheels are being shipped already. Has anyone made a potential mistake with this offset? I might have to get some 1.25" spacers which I was trying to avoid. I don't want this truck to have the wheels sticking too far past stock fitment (I know they will slightly anyway).

    Any input would be helpful.

Im looking to buy Fuel hostages for a 3" King lift with Allpro UCA's. I believe they are the same specs as TC. I just ordered Nitto Ridge grapplers 285/70r/17
Fuel rim size 17x9 +1mm offset 4.5 back spacing. Would I have any rubbing issues?

Hi. I'm new to this forum. And had recently bought a 2016 TACOMA SR5 FULL CAB LONG BED. I have been crazy on trying to get what would be a perfect size of rims and tires i should purchase for my truck without having it lifted and not rubbing on to anything. I am hoping to have the wheels pop out the body by about 1"-2". Please help me out figuring whatni like for my upcoming bday. Thank you in advance. Please include the rim size and specs and tires too pls..

This is slightly embarrassing to have to ask in the first place considering I have been working in the industry for many years now, but I need some help! I am less familiar with the wheel/tire fitment on my own truck than I am most others on the road. I am looking to order some new wheels and tires and I need to know whether they are going to fit or not. I have spoken to WheelPro's and done quite a bit of research, but can't get a solid answer. I'd like to have an XD128 16x8 with zero offset and run 265/70r16 tires, but I can live with a 17x8.5 Fuel Trophy d551 with a +6 offset running 255/70R17 tires. Will either (or both) of these options work on my 2011 regular cab 4x4?! Thanks in advance!!

I'm leaning towards the Fuels at this point due to all the issues with 16x8 wheels. It comes in 17x8.5" with a +6 offset with 5in backspacing or -6 offset with 4.5in backspacing.

A stock Off Road wheel and tire is; 16"x7", +32mm offset, 5.25" backspacing, 265/70/16
Backspace and offset(+ or -), are only indirectly related.
If calculating backspace when only given the width and offset, you have to account for rim width vs wheel width.
Typically, rim width is 1" greater than wheel width; we must calculate using the rim width.
    8"/2=4"+32mm(1.25")=5.25"
Wheel width is used by wheel companies for the purpose of sizing the tire.

    Stock vs 17x8.5, +6mm offset w/ 255/70/17
    bs2_zpsnxyungnm_535d151addfdd3de791499eac8e53413335dcefe.jpg

Of your two choices, both will stick out about 1-3/4"(45mm).
This may or may not affect steering arc clearance; made worse with a larger tire.

The 16x8 looses 3/4"(19.3mm) of backspace.
The 17x8.5 looses 1/4"(7mm) of backspace.
Reduced backspace helps in suspension clearance when lifted to a point, depending on tire size.
You get diminishing returns as far as clearance, trying to push out a large wheel/tire; it eats into the steering arc. This begets a cab mount chop usually.

Here's the calculator for the above comparisons.

    Depends...
    What width rim?

I know you said 1" passed the fender, but how much further do you want to come out passed stock?

Duh, I guess I didnt word that correctly. The wheels I listed have a +20 offset vs the +34 offset of the OEM wheel. So will they clear the calipers?

OK so the listed wheels have a 5" backspace. WW/2 + offset+.25" Correct?

I think you're hung up on an offset measurement. Rim width and offset determines what your back space will be.
OEM is a 7" rim; the one you chose is 8".
Since offset is based off centerline, a 7" rim would need more positive offset to have the same backspace as a 8" rim.
Or stated another way, an 8" rim requires more negative offset to have the same backspace as a 7" rim.
The math says it should clear...on a stock lift
Personally, I'd look for an 8" rim, 0 offset, 4.5" backspace.
