Replaced the DS and PS today. All signs pointed to it being the PS. I replaced PS then went for a drive. No difference. Replaced the DS and BAM! All moaning sounds are gone. I chose not to reinstall the dust shields. Took me 3 hours for PS because the damn hub wouldn’t come off but only took 55 minutes for DS. Glad I’m good for awhile on this!

I believe it's the other way around. Weight transferred to a bad bearing may quiet it down because you are taking up the slack and imperfections that cause the loud noise. Thus, you turn right and noise goes away; then, the the driver side bearing is bad.

I just did this Friday (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/what-have-you-done-to-your-2nd-gen-tacoma-today.6499/page-8306)
For people following this that might be doing their own bearing/hub swap.
I found that after the four bearing flange bolts are backed out you can put the 35mm axle nut back on a little and give it a few whacks with a hammer and the hubs pop off pretty smoothly.

Always use a new axle nut and a new cotter key!

The PS I beat on for an hour w/a 3lb. BFH. It did NOT want to come off. The DS I didn't hit a single time. I pried on it for about 2 minutes & it came right off. That bearing had bad grinding when removed but passed the 6 & 12 wobble test w/flying colors.
