I am thinking that my truck is having bearing issues too. I feel as if it is only coming from the front end. I am comfortable doing my own work. When faced with this issue though is it advised to do the front bearings and the rear bearings at the same time or is only replacing the front an okay thing to do?

    Thanks for any advise.

Just do the front. The rear is a lot bigger project and they don't fail nearly as often as the front wheel bearings. Many people have done the fronts 1 or more times and have never done the rears.

Awesome. I like that answer. I was reading up on the rears and started dreading it. The fronts look like it could be an after work project.

    Thanks!

I had to do my left to pass inspection ( the right was done 20k ago by previous owner) and aside from the time wasted trying to get the caliper off, it took maybe an hour or so. Probably would have been less if I moved with purpose

I like to do all my own work so while it will be my first time I am confident I can figure it out. Thanks for the encouragement. Although after more reading looks like the needle bearing could be the issue as well? Guess i'll find out!

I watched this the other night as I'm getting ready to do this again. Great video on how to uninstall, press out the old, press in the new and reinstall the bearing.

The prevailing consensus is Dorman products are hit and miss; they source out to various Chinese manufacturers. I bought their LCA's and the ball joints are shot after less than 15K, but the bushings are still holding up. With wheel bearings being a significant auto component, stick with known brand names. In general, I've had good experience with DuraGo products for brake rotors and wheel bearings.

I replaced my bearings with Dorman assemblies around a month ago. Although I’ve only put around 1k miles on them, I haven’t had any issues.

I was about to mention he should have cleaned the rust off the area that the seal rides on but he didn't even install one so no need lol what a fool

I would bet that he installed a seal but just left that out of the video- probably because he fought with it. I agree about cleaning the seal surface, I did to mine, but we all know that the reality is that most shops don't take the time to do things perfectly because time is money. I watched this video before I pressed my bearings off and it helped. Anyway, I must have missed your video that shows all the steps.

was this for a 2wd? if so did the Dorman hubs come with the ABS ring installed? Im asking because im not sure how long more my bearings will last and need a replacement asap. Autozone sells them for a reasonable price

Yeah they do come with the ABS ring. I only had to swap the dust cap over to the new ones.
