I am having a hard time selecting an 18 X 9 wheel for the new Nitto Ridge Grapplers that are being delivered shortly. Not a huge fan of black rims and I think polished / silver will look the best. What is best looking rim in your opinion? Pics please!
    Thanks

You could do the Ion Alloy 171 Polished 18"x9"

I think the difficulty you're going to find is not many wheels are made in polished anymore. It's black or chrome. You might be able to find a nice set of wheels that are black and machined, something with a fully machined face. Machined is the raw aluminum underneath, still looks shiny but doesn't have the issues of chrome.

They only come in 0mm offset, 5.00" backspacing. So they'd be a tight fit if you're going 285 tires.
What size tires are you going to run and any lift on your truck?

The 5.0" BS will fit, but the 4.5" BS would be better. Aired up you will clear, but aired down you might rub the UCA.

I have 4.5" BS and everything clears just fine, reading I've found posts of guys running 9" wide and 5.0" bs with 285 tires not rubbing but they look like street driven trucks. I haven't come across someone with that fitment who airs down to off road. If you're not planning on airing down for offroad you'd be fine.
The guys who run 17" method wheels are at 4.75" BS and don't rub aired down, but idk how much clearance they have if that .25" will make it or break it.

I do not air down at all, nor do I do a lot of extreme off roading

I'm on the same page with the OP. I like the polished look with a deeper lip. Good luck deciding.

3" Toytec Lift, Camburg UCA's, Bilstein 5100's all around, 265/75r16 Duratracs, Ion 171 wheels, 1.25" Spacers, SoS Concepts Front Bumper, SoS Concepts High Clearance Rear Bumper, Paracord OH SHIT handles.
So the search bar brought me here.. Be kind. I have a 2015 TRD OR and love the 171's but don't want to increase the wheel size. Have a 3" toytec lift and have the new Camburg UCA's on the way. Looking at the 16x8's and wouldnt mind throwing 265/75r16 on them. I do some light off roading (Beach mostly, sand can get to about 6" -8" deep at worst). Would these fit with no rubbing issues when aired down? I read a few articles about offset but im pretty lost when it comes to offset vs. backspacing. Thanks for anyones help!

Just thought about this but id have to be very meticulous in cleaning these to avoid rust on the polished surface correct? I could just go Matt and not worry about it i suppose..
