First things first YOU LEFT THE SHOP your at fault! Stop your whining to us you pointed out the damage and still you left the shop, The Firestone shop I go to always has a manager on duty. I imagine that you had the sales guy and tire mounter document the damage, if not S.O.L.

Arent those just stick on? You are right if they are hooked in though and would get tighter when speeding, but Ive seen a punctured fender on a old MG from them once, maybe the mount broke?

They’d probably fall off on bumps and off-roading though.

Well daddy back. JK. If you documented everything you should be ok. If you threaten court challenge. Inside wheel marks are from clamps when removing an installing tires. You can argue that tech that did work did not do it properly because weights did not stick. He even tried to install them in a place where there was very little contact. The weights did not stick because surface was not cleaned properly. Also he may have been in experienced due to other damages on wheels.

Those are suppose to stick. They will fall off when you start moving or when they get wet.

Last time I had tires mounted the Tech either used sandpaper or scotchbrite on the inside of the wheels for the stick on weights.

Sorry about your situation. We love these stupid trucks. So, it's like they kicked your kid.

What would we do without a Sharpie?

I had some forged 22" wheels on a silverado SS once. Took it to discount and literally watched the guy take a block of stone or some type of sanding block and hold it to the inside of the wheel while it was spinning on the balancing machine. Obviously it sanded a ring around the entire inside of the wheel. I make sure now to tell them I want everything done touch free. Haven't had an issue since.

My first and last time at discount tire they fucked up one oem rim!

It was beyond repair. Luckily that shop was honest and he told me while I was waiting. Ended up give me a free wheel and discount for new wheels.

For wheels not oem a lot of times tire techs will screw up. I’ve had it happen three times at different shops over 10 years and I’ve pry only had tire changes 6 times.

OP, you’ll pry not get new wheels but they can repair them. The dented cap was the tech pounding on it with something to make it stay haha.

    Good luck.

I’m working a 24 shift today, so I’m not physically able to go in.

I called today at 0700 as soon as they opened. Was told the manager wasn’t in till 11, called at 11 and was told he wasn’t going to be in ALL DAY. So I went ahead and called corporate to speak to someone and file a claim. They said they would file my claim no problem but like to give the local shops a chance to take care of the issue. So I lit a fire under their arse and explained the entire situation and how I have pictures of everything.

Wouldn’t you know it 30 mins later I get a call from the shop saying I have two options 1) the will pay to refinish the wheel 2) they will reemburse me for the cost of the damaged wheels. You can probably guess I’m going with the latter.

Have to physically take my wheels in tommrow so the manager can do the work up.

Long story short tiedie can suck it.

Glad to hear you are close to resolving this issue. BTW, you are doing the right thing and don’t let anyone fuck with you for trying on TW. If these people were in your shoes they would be just as pissed off if their wheels got jacked up at a shop. People that are giving you a hard time weren’t the ones who had new wheels that were supposed to be installed with no issue. I doubt you wanted or intended for any of this to happen. I would be super pissed too. I understand stuff happens, but it’s easier to avoid damage vs. paying a customer for new wheels. Have a good one and keep us posted.

glad they are making it right for you. definitely don't feel bad about wanting it right. I would be the same as you myself. take the money and run...get your wheels repaired for a fraction of the cost and save the rest for other mods.

I agree. I hope someone like Tiedie goes to get the oil changed and they forget to put his drain plug back in. Lol. See how he feels then. JK. I hate wishing I’ll on anyone but when people are down and out like the OP you can’t be so nasty.

Glad to hear everything is working out. Doing what I do for a living. I'm paranoid every time I go to a shop.

Just left the shop, manager took a look at the wheels and instantly refunded me the entire cost wheels w/shipping and what they chargered me for mounting and balancing the wheels.

So to summarize this is how I got them to refund me.

-Took pictures before I went into to the shop.

-spoke with the tech (before install) specifically about how they handle damaged rims if it’s their fault, and confirmed they will cover the cost.

-Inspected wheels before I left and made note of damages to the tech (the manager was out) and let him know I intend to file a claim.

-called corporate and spoke with a rep; got a file started with intent to file if the local shop did not fix the issue.

-went back in with the wheels and explained everything in great detail to the manager with emphasis on pictures taken before, notification of the corporate office (even had corporate call the day prior to going back in

-refused anything but brand new wheels

Of course the pictures before and after with inspection played a huge role in me getting a refund BUT I think the key was calling corporate and having them talk to the local shop directly, it really lit a fire under their arse, I doubt they want to go through the hassle of dealing with upper management.

Good luck and make sure you’re covering down on your stuff cause no one else cares. Aloha, bitches.
