Hey All, I've got a bit of a problem. I bought a set of American Eagle 186's 16x8 4" backspacing polished finish ( they look just like MT ClassicII's). When I waxed one straight out of the box I noticed how easily that they scratched. I've owned alot of wheels over the years and never had an issue like this b4. Talked to the place that I bought them about this and was told they do not have a protective finish (clearcoat). They did offer to take them back. Here's my problem I can't find any other wheels that I like that come with 4" backspacing. I did the searches in 1st gen. and also in the wheel section a couple of times and I got a few ideas but I really would like to know if any of the members could help me out. What are you all running on your trucks? I saw a set of pics here showing front view of tire/wheel combo's and I liked the position of the 4" backspaced wheel in reference to the stock TRD fender flares. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike the geezer.

Take a look at the Pro Comp 1069's
16x8 with a 4" bs and look similar to the AE 186's.

I have the pro comp 8069's (same wheel but black) and am quite pleased with them.

You can run a spacer if you wanted. I have 1.25" spacers and it drives fine. I had to get them because I'm running 2nd gen wheels and theres too much backspacing, so I had to push them out a little to clear suspension bits. If you really the look of a certain width track, get whatever wheel you like and run spacers to achieve the track.

ProComp 1069s - be prepared to keep them cleaned since they are polished aluminum with no clear coat.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm still trying to figure out what I'm gonna do. I like the look of the MT's,Procomp's etc. Just the issue of continuous polishing. Looking into powdercoat or anodizing. Again thanks and even you brutalguy your input was not only valuable but enlightening. Sxgt if you have time to respond I P.M.ed you. Mike the geezer
