    What’s going on guys!

So I’m looking into lifting my 2017 Tacoma with a 3” revtek (until I can afford somthing more capable)

The set up I’m cutrenlty looking at is
    285/75 r16 Falken M/t
    Want to run a SCS r5 @16x8 3.5 BS/ -25mm offset.

Currently don’t do a whole lot of wheeling but still need it capable to do some light trails, snow etc... I understand with this setup I will be looking at trimming fenders/ removing mud flaps and very possibly a CMC which I completely understand. Are there any other issues I haven’t considered with this sepcfic set up? Ie rubbing on the UCA’s? Or problems that I might encounter Thanks in advance!

It will add 1.6" of positive scrub radius on a tire with a 9.1" tread width....if that kind of thing concerns you.

To be completely honest, I’m very new to this tire calculation and it makes my head spin trying to figure it out. I couldn’t comprehend your reply.

I have a -12mm offset with same size tire and my truck is dirty within an hour of washing . Its also black which doesnt help. Rocks will also be kicked up and chip paint.

You will need to trim your fenders, remove the flaps, and do the CMC. You're spot on there.

Nope! 4.75" back spacing is the max to clear a 285 from rubbing the UCA. At 3.5" on these SCS wheels you'll have more than enough room. You are positioning the wheel further out which puts a little more strain on your wheel bearings, but many use these wheels without issue. I wouldn't be worried about anything other than making sure you trim the fenders where you rub and do the CMC.

Don't forget to order the correct M12x1.5 cone seat lugs as well.

Thanks! This has been quite the headache trying to figure this stuff out, glad to know this forum has knowledgeable (and non judgmental) members, cheers!

I’ll post pics when it’s completed.

Haven’t made much thought on that particularl issue. Do the cons outweigh the pros in your opinion?

So I pulled the trigger on some SCS R8’s (16x8 -12mm offset) on the revtek website (3” lift) they claim you can fit a 33x12.5 tire on with “minor trimming” I’m think more along the lines of CMC and a fair amount fender trimming. I’d like to run a 305/70 r16 Falken M/T. My question is How far past the fender flares will these stick out and will this tire/rim combo cause any other issues that a CMC and “minor fender trimming” can’t cure? Thanks!

They will stick out 2-1/4" further than the stock tire.

It will increase positive scrub radius by 1-1/8"; no cure for that.
It is equivalent to adding a 1-1/8" wheel spacer, as far as scrub radius is concerned.

Gotcha. So other than sticking out 1 1/8 past the current. Will it cause any issues in the wheel well of fender rubbing more than a 285/75r 16 would?

    I think you misunderstood...
The tire will stick out 2-1/4" further than stock.
Scrub radius is moved 1-1/8" to the positive.

In the stock setup, your tire rotates around SAI at very near the tire centerline.
In your new setup, your tire rotates around SAI 1-1/8" further from the tire centerline.

305s add about 2" more tire outside of SAI.
285s add about 1.5" more tire outside of SAI.

I only mentioned scrub radius, because you asked about other issues rather than clearance.
Seems you are already committed to trimming and chopping.

Watch the videos, it will make a lot more since.
