Hey everyone I just got a stock 2021 trd 4x4.

I'm looking at getting new wheels and keeping my old tires (one expense at a time) I've done some research and narrowed it down to this wheel size-
    17 X 8.5 6 X 139.7 4.30" -10mm
That being the most simular to stock. With my tires being 265/65/R17 will I have any rub?

I would just search this forum for negative offset or the specific wheels you are looking for. You want to use the stock tires? You can obviously do what you want but new wheels with the stock tires, and such an aggressive offset, would look a little weird. seems like you could use the money elsewhere to enhance the truck.

Thanks for your response. I plan on getting new tires eventually, do you know the offset on my current ones?

Stock sport wheels have a 30mm offset. The OEM SEMA style wheel that I just put on my 2020 Sport has a 4mm offset. You can definitely tell the difference. Going to a -10mm is going to really push the tire out away from the truck. I kept tire size at stock.

    Stock, 4WD, Access Cab, White,
You'll be pushing the wheel/tire towards the outside of the truck by 1 9/16 inches (1.57 inch or 40 mm). Adding to the wheel movement will be 1/2 of the tire width and the sidewall height.

    I'd suspect rubbing will occur.

Remember, its not the side of the tire that rubs. It is typically the shoulder (corner where the tread and sidewall meet) making contact.

Do you think you'd rub if you went a notch taller to 265/70R17?

I have -12or13 offset on the 265/70R17 and they rub when the wheels are turned halfway. Not really when normal driving but fast turns or at an angle and it rubs bad, thinking of going with 0 offset or 4mm.

It would be very close. I definitely did not want to do any surgery on my wheel wells . My goal wasn’t really to put the biggest tires on I could I mostly wanted all-terrain tires with an aggressive stance... and of course something that was going to look good with my new wheels.

Piggybacking on the discussion... 21 Taco TRD Offroad with 16 inch. I want to swap tires and wheels to the following set up. Toyo AT III 265 65 17 and Fuel Covert 17 x 9 with a -12 offset. Anyone know have this offset? Would like to see how far they extend past the fender.

Follow up on this. I would have just slightly under 1/2" clearance if I had went wtih 70's. So if I were to turn the wheel any, it might get closer. I realize this isn't the best way to measure this. lol.

MIDTNTACO, your truck looks awesome! I have a 22 TRD Sport 4x4 and am looking to do the same. Don't want any rubbing of course. Your info is greatly appreciated! What kind of tires did you go with?

SATXTACO a 0mm offset is ideal with the factory tires. When you go to a 265/70R17 the first point of contact would be the mud flaps which most forum members trim or remove. A -10 will make the tire rub.

Thanks SATXTACO. So, on my 22 TRD Sport 4x4, I could go with a 0mm offset with 265 70 R17, remove mud flaps and have no rubbing issues whatsoever?
