I currently have a 17X7 rim with a positive four offset on a 26570R17 tire. I am thinking about changing my wheel to a 17X9 rim with a negative 6 offset. Will this be a noticable difference?

The centerline of the wheel will move 10mm outwards and your wheel will be 2 inches wider so yes, you will stick out a little over an inch more than now on the WHEEL. Depends what tire you go with to determine the cross section and how far that will stick out. You will also be just under an inch closer to your UCA.

I suggest sticking to a zero offset at the most. Zero will be about a quarter inch past on a truck with factory flares.
I have the same size tire on 17x9 / 0 offset if you want pic’s let me know.
