I used Dupli-Color High Performance Wheel Coating and Rust-Oleum High Performance Enamel. Both produced a good finish with proper prep.

Unorthodox use for the Duplicolor wheel paint, but I used it for my SPC Upper Control Arms.

    Too sweet SS!
Had you thought to accent those perimeter 'dimples' somehow so they stand out?

For aluminum wheels would you want to substitute this step for regular primer or aluminum-specific primer? The self-etching part is usually phosphoric acid and zinc, the intention is to prep fresh steel from surface rusting and provide anti-corrosion since zinc is sacrificial to iron. But I think this works the opposite with aluminum and causes oxidation, which I thought is why you had to use zinc chromate (which is nasty, so it's not typically found) to keep it sacrificial on aluminum instead?

ETA: Nope, I'm wrong, the can I have says it's OK for metal (I assume they mean steel), aluminum and fiberglass.

Dave you must be an engineer.
Hey, can you get this figured out and post it for us as I would want to know what the difference is in primers and which would be best for aluminum wheels.

I used rustoleum graphite colored wheel paint probably close to 10 years ago now. Still holding up.
