I was just shopping around the last few months. Looked at Black Rhino, KMC, Method, SCS, Kansei, FN amongst others but those were the top contenders. Ended up pulling the trigger on SCS. Hub centric, had the size and offset I was looking for, good looking, one of the lightest and I believe they are made in the same factory as OEM but could be wrong on that.

If you are looking for a more budget option that's still hub centric and not too heavy, I wound up with Level 8 Mk6 from discount tire. They've got a black and gunmetal option. I went with a 16x8, +0 on 285/75/16 tires, and spent several hours around 12psi on some sand dunes and rocks and never had any issues, normally I stick with 18-20psi though when off pavement. I specifically wanted that size and offset as I read on here that it would have the best chance of not rubbing. I didn't have to do the cab mount chop to run 33's with them.

I also figured If I spent less I wouldn't stress about running low pressures and scraping rocks at times. Currently showing $138 for 16's and $152 for 17's.

If you're sticking with stock though, I would search around for some other OEM pull offs, even from 4runners. They might even have tires on them.

Sorry, missed this reply. Haven't gone out and actually gotten a diameter measurement, but currently rocking the Terra grapplers in 265/70R17 so I'm assuming 17"?

Correct. 265 is the width in mm, 70 is the percentage of the width that makes up the sidewall height, 17 is the rim diameter in inches. So it looks like you're actually running "32's". (265/25.4x0.7x2)+17=31.6"

What size tires are you rocking with the TRD Pro wheels? I started looking into them as well and I was wondering if there would be any rubbing with 275/70R17 tires. My current wheels are stock 17" wheels and they don't rub at all, but I'd be going from a 30 offset to a 4 offset, but idk how much of a difference that would make. Also, it looks like the TRD Pro wheels are only 7" wide as opposed to the stock 7.5" but i don't think that should effect much right?

I can’t say for certain since I did purchase these for my 4th gen 4Runner, not my Tacoma. I would assume, but other people should chime in that 265/70/17 would be the largest tire you could use without rubbing (if your truck is stock).

I just transferred the existing 265/65/17 Michelin defenders since they were almost brand new.

+1 for black rhino. Have warlords on my taco, and Ridge on the 4Runner (which look like TRD wheels). But I would just start with the size and offset you what and work backwards from there. Otherwise you may get set on something that doesn’t work for your needs

Also, did you have to modify anything to get the warlords to work? lift or trimming?

To get the warlords to work? No. To get the 285s I put on them to work? Yes. Lift, SPC UCAs, CMC, lots of trimming, alignment…

But I also picked warlords for the offset, I believe it was -38, to give me a little more space for the 285s

Update for everyone in the thread. I went with the TRD Pro SEMA wheels with Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws. I think they look great. Had to remove the rear OEM mud flaps in the front and tomorrow I will be removing the front mud flaps in the front wheel well, because they still rub a lot when backing up on even a slight decline. I'm guessing it's because the tread on the Wildpeaks is a bit beefier than the tread I had on the Nitto Terra grapplers I had before, even though the wheel and tire size remained the same. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. If anyone has recommendations on good mudflaps I could throw on that won't break the bank, let me know! Otherwise ill just be rocking no flaps in the front.

Also, shout out to Discount Tire for helping me with the tire purchase and for guiding me through the ins and outs of wheel fitment. And thank you to the people at Extreme Terrain for hooking me up with the SEMA wheels and giving me a no hassle price match with free shipping. Would definitely recommend both companies if you are looking for wheels/tires or if you have any questions about fitment for your vehicle!
