What is the widest you can go with new wheels to avoid any rubbing or requiring any kind of spacer?

I bet you can fit a 35" in there if you don't turn the steering wheel or compress the suspension.

Or if you put on a 6" drop bracket lift with a 3" body lift, you could stuff a bigger tire in there.

Also, "with new wheels" you could get an extremely offset rim and not have to use a spacer.
Same disclaimer as above - you can't turn the steering wheel.

With no lift I would say a 31” tall and around 10” wide would be safe. Assuming it’s a 6 lug truck

Try to stay close to stock with backspace on new wheels. On the older trucks poking out looks terrible.
