Need help. I got 17” Fuel wheel with -12 offset. My problem is that I want to know what size tire I can put on my Taco that won’t rub and don’t want to cut. I have stock suspension. Not sure if 275/70R17 is too big. Help really appreciated.

I recently responded to a very related question. Here is the thread:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/265-70-r17-12-offset-rub.776704/

Many many more theads can be found at using the search function. This is a very common question.

In short the -12 offset will make you rub with just about anything over stock size. How much and what you have to do is the 'art'

Welcome to TW! I'm gonna assume you're running stock suspension. In that case, most people on here will say you can run a 265/70/r17 with no rub at all. I can attest to that as well, because before I got my 33" toyos, I had some sort of cooper highway tire in 265/70/r17 and they worked fine. No rubbing whatsoever. Those were on the stock sport wheels at I think ~+30mm offset or something? You mentioned you had -12mm fuels, but I don't think that's enough to make that particular size rub. Other's will probably chime in as well.

If you're planning on doing some suspension upgrades, you should consider the 255/80/r17, it's a pretty good size, albeit a teeny bit skinnier, but I love the look. They're also true 33" compared to your 285/70/r17's. Oh, and Toyo for the win, you won't regret it!

I didn’t rub on 265/75/16 with 0 offset but don’t sure on -12. I’m thinking you maybe have to stick with 265/70/17 OR go with skinnies
