I have a question. I have a 2011 DCSB 4x4 TRD and am putting a 3" lift on it. I want to go to a taller tire (like 33). The 255/85/16's are narrow that I'm wanting. My ? Is, if I put wheel spacers on (1"-2"), is it going to make the tire stick out and be directly under the fender lip? Will I have clearance between the tire and fender? I'm thinking of going with a wider tire, but don't want to b close to rubbing the UCA. My sons 2008 (3" lift/ 265/75/16 duratrac's) has barely enough to stick you're finger between the tire and UCA. I want that 33" tire, and I know it'll fit, but I would really like it to be wider and not so narrow. But I'm scared if I go too wide, I'll rub. So, will the wheel spacers help me or hurt me?

    Thanks in advance.

Depending on the rims you are using you issues could be non or many. The farther you push a given rim out with wheel spacers, the more clearance you will gain from the UCA's at the expense of maybe hitting other stuff. Instead of the UCA's you might start hitting mud flaps, flares, and body mounts. If you are using the same wheels as your son and plan to run 255/85's you should clear the UCA's as it is a narrower tire. Seems I have seen a lot of posts with folks running 255/85/16's on stock wheels with no UCA issues.

    Thanks!

I've seen where people have no problems with the 255/85/16's. I'm wondering if I could put a say... 285/75/16 on there and not rub. I was thinking if I use the 1" spacer it wouldn't rub on the UCA's. His barely has any room between the tire and UCA. I can't see the 285's fitting in because of that.
But I can always just run the 255/85/16's.

With 255s on stock wheels, with 2.5 lift and stock UCAs, I lightly rub the UCA (not an issue) and have a little rub on my mudflap at flex and turn. The tire is inside the wheel well. If I would put on spacers, I would definitely hit the fender when flexing, as well as rub far more at turn and flex.

    Thanks for the info.

I'm just gonna stick with the 255/85/16's. They should work fine with no spacers.

Does anyone know who makes a very aggressive M/T in the 255/85/16? I'm trying to keep it around $250 a tire, but if I can find something just "Awesome" for $250-$300 I'm game. (Like a bogger!) I'm just looking for something around 33". I gotta "out-do" the boy! lol

Oh, and we both have the same size/style stock wheels.
