    For anyone looking to add wheel adapters to your rigs here is my experience so far.

    First off, this will Dramatically change your geometry for your rig and it says on the box not for road use. Your alignment will not be the same due to the SAI angle altercation.

    In January I bought 4 wheel adapters for my 05 Tacoma Because the Pro comp 252 rims would not clear the calipers. I bought mine from 4 Wheel Parts and they're the G2 Axle and Gear adapters. A set of 2 was $100.00 so I spend $200.00+ taxes on my 1.5" adapters. The first month I took off each tire every 2 or three days to inspect the inner lug nut torque specs and they were fine each time. I put thread locker on them and I didn't expect to see anything loose to be honest. I haven't been driving a lot with them because I was worried, I have put almost 1,000-2,000 miles on them and this is what I have noticed so far.
    • They did make my truck a little squirrely on the free way at high speeds.
    • My truck now wants to turn a little when you hit bumps at high speeds.
    • I did also notice my MPG did get worse by about 2-3 MPG; but this can be from the new size of tires or the weight of the new tires that also changed at the same time. On average I am getting 7-13 MPG.
    It's not enough for me to really be worried about my/others safety. After the first month I finally had enough courage to check them once a week. They're still torqued to spec and I don't see any signs of damage to the actual spacer or the bolts. Again I got the courage to finally go off-roading. I went twice with them and they perform fantastic! I played in the mud and did a little bit of easy trail stuff. After I cleaned and washed my truck I inspected them again to insure my/ others safety and again no issues. I have a new job that is about an hour away from my house so I will still be checking them every week still and I will up date this as need be I will put up pictures this Friday of them installed..


    The question is should you buy them?
    It depends on your situation; and I can't answer that for you. What I can do is give you the pros and cons

    Pros:
    wider stance.
    Clears calipers.
    relatively inexpensive.
    fit wider tires
    fit taller tires

    Cons:
    Worse MPG.
    Worse handling on roads at high speeds
    Relatively expensive.
    Geometry altercations
    More parts for possible failures.
    Inaccurate speedo.
    ABS light may illuminate.
    Cause unaccounted wear on other components

    Are they safe?
    In relation to a stock vehicle No. Do to the fact they change the geometry so much I would honestly say, no they're not safe.
    However, In relation to wheel spacers they're way safer! spacers do not fasten themselves to the rotor/hub they sandwich in between the rotor/hub and the rim. This makes your lug nuts shorter and less effective. Adapters directly bolt on and still give your lug nuts space to be correctly torqued with maximum amount of thread needed to keep your rims on your rig (if applied with Red lock tight).
