Do I need wheel spacers? Will be lifting my truck soon with 6” procomp. I was told I need too, if I’m lifting it, but I’m gonna be running stocks(sports) till I get bigger tires.

Don’t do spacers. They would probably initially eliminate a problem but down the road only create more

6" lift with stock wheels and tires? :anonymous:

Dude just wait to do the lift until you have the wheels and tires. It's just going to look ridiculous. IMO

Someone told you you need spacers if your doing a lift?? Spaces are never a necessity and something you should probably just avoid. There's really no benefit in them. If you're looking to push the wheels out go with a negative back spacing like a -12 :cookiemonster:

You don’t need spacers because you’re lifting the truck. Procomp may require a certain size wheel and offset with their kit to clear the suspension. It’s all there in the specs, read it.

Nothing wrong with spacers, as long as you don't go the cheap route on them.

Like most things, spacers properly used are not a problem. I would not use them with wide wheels or wheels that are already offset. I would also not use wide spacers, especially on a loaded or 4 wheeled truck. I run 1" spacers with stock wheels and skinny tires to get back some track width, and to provide clearance for chains. I've been running them probably 130K now with plenty of offroad use, and not a single problem. Buy a quality hub centric spacer.

With a 6" kit you essentially flip the tie rods to be mounted on top of the spindle vs the bottom which creates a clearance issue with the wheels and the tie rod ends. Some members in the 6" lift thread have actually shaved these down for clearance so slightly. With a stock offset 17" wheel I almost guarantee you will need 1.25" Spidertrax spacers in order to clear the ends. Even with 17x9 -12 I was like less than 1mm away from rubbing the tie rod ends so I am running 1.25" Spacers as well. This is why pretty much all the 6" kits recommend 18" wheels for proper fitment. Check out the thread below for any drop bracket lift related questions! Lot of helpful info in here:
