They will sit out 1.64" farther from engine on the fender side. Mine are 8" with +10 offset with 265/70 and stick out 1" farther than stock. All our 2nd and 3rd gen have +30 stock offsets which puts wheels more towards engine. The less plus offset the farther they stick out.

Fine with 3" lift. Thats what most people run to clear 9" wheels. Might have to adjust caster (front to rear lean) to eliminate rub where mud flaps mount behind front tires. Gonna stick out 2" farther than stock or a little over 1" outside of stock fender flare.

Thanks I picked up 5 of them today of of Craigslist. While I'm picking people's brains, I'm looking to go with the goodyear duratrac in 265/70 17. There are a number of options, Walmart seems to have a good price, am I missing something though?

    Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac (P) 265/70R17/SL Tire 115S. $189 a piece

Haven't really priced them but they are only $190 at a Goodyear Service Center. You might can beat $189 at the online stores. Still seems like a good price for the tread. They are just regular sidewalls. The good C or E range tires are probably $50 more each. Just depends on your use. If you are towing anything over 5000 pounds or plan on doing some rough off roading you should get the LT model. For mostly street or dirt path driving the Passenger version should be fine. Tire Rack has the KO2 in that size on sale for $205 each and they have the C range sidewalls.
After looking around I found a killer deal on E rated General Grabber AT2 same size at Sears.com for $161 each out the door and then get a $70 rebate on a set of 4. That is only $570 plus tax for a set (the P rated is $550 -$70 rebate for $480 a set). Then let Walmart do the mount/balance for $10-$12 each.

Nicely done on your deal. I'm going through bio o tires and getting 5 tires for $904. After military discount of $35 and rebate of $50 should be $819. Although after mounting and warranty it will bounce back up. Thanks again for the assistance.

Wanna see those pictures when you're done. I think I will go more to a zero offset with the 18 or 20 inch wheels just to give my wheels some dish. The 17 x 8's I used are ok and were very budget friendly but would like a wider lip and probably chrome or polished. Now trying to decide on tires. All street here so can't justify KO2's even though they are great tires.

What offset are these wheels in this picture? Stock suspension it looks like as well? Nice stance.

Looking for some help identifying some 2nd Gen wheels. I need another 16" spare for my 1st Gen that I am running 16" 2nd Gen trd offroad wheels (5.25" backspacing).

Would someone mind telling me what the back backspacing is for these wheels? If i am not mistaken these are the sr5 2nd gen 16" steelies?00606_ebHpHKgZOKo_1200x900.jpg

So where I am needing knowledge is, If it is a issue to run a full size matching spare wheel/tire that has different backspacing then the other three? I am thinking longterm and not just limping off the trail. Or is the backspacing not a big deal? Also what is the disadvantages if any of running a steel wheel paired with 3 other alloy wheels? I know the weight would be different but just wondering if that can cause negative side effects over time?

I essentially wanted another matching trd offroad alloy to match but I am having trouble finding just one for sale. With just guessing I am thinking that the spare being steel and different backspacing is not really a issue to be ran longterm because thats what my current oem spare has. But I would like to have two spares for long/out in the middle of "nowhere" camping/trail trips.

Thanks for helping and the education :)

FirstGen Jer, I just bought those same wheels and put them on my 1st Gen. They are stock 5.25" BS....which made mine sit in from the 4.5"BS alloys I just took off. They fit fine, a little close to the UCA, but I'll grab a .75" or 1" spacer to push 'em back out. My steelies came off a 2014 Taco and I put them on my 03. Hope this helps but by reading your question, they should sit exactly the same as your other 2nd gen wheels. Good luck!

ya'll seem to really know your tires. so, since no one replied to my thread i'll ask you guys,- how big of a tire can I put on my stock 18 inch alloys on a 2016 limited without them rubbing or going to far from vehicle specifications since its still in warranty phase. want a little more height without lifting her. right now they measure 30inch - mitchlens xtls. thanx.

Probably only 265/65/18. That is a skinny wheel. That will give you an inch more diameter than stock. 265/70 (2" larger diameter) might rub on mud flaps if you have them. Personally I would save your money until you can add wheels. Those plus 30 offset stock wheels keep tires very close to your control arms. If you go to a plus 10 or 0 offset 18 x 8.5 aftermarket wheel you will gain a lot more on appearance plus you can go a little wider on your tires. A level kit for $100 would also free up a little more diameter clearance up front. Your truck is limited on tire sizes with stock Toyota wheels. Just my 2 cents.

Hey guys Ive never bought wheels for a vehicle before so I'm totally confused. I have a 2001 Tacoma TRD I think it's considered the Xtra cab? Any ways it came with the stock alum. Wheels on it. The wheels I'm looking at are -19mm offset. Would these work? How much would I be sticking out of my wheel wells?

Ok first post here, So be gentle... 2014 TRD Off-Road Double cab. Im looking at some wheels that are 16x8, 0 offset and 4.5 backspaced. Trying to do a little math in my head, stock wheels have 32mm and 5.25" backspacing. I think it will stick the tires out about .75 of an inch. Am I close? I think it has more space behind the wheel than the stock wheel? I'm asking to make sure they will fit, but I'm also wondering why tire people say I can't fit 265/75/R16's with stock suspension? Also thinking of going with a spacer up front just to level it out. Thanks for the help.
