What would be the perfect wheel fitment specs for 16", what would be the offset and bs in order to clear the suspension and stay flush with the fender? thanks

if anyone got the flat rota grids or te37 specs, i'd really appreciate it.

Does anybody know if the 16x8 stock wheel off of a 2010 Tacoma 4x4 will fit my 2002 Tacoma Prerunner 2 wheel drive? If so, please let me know.

They are 16x7, and they should fit. The only thing it will tuck in more. The backspacing is around 5 inches. The first generations have 4.5 backspacing.

    Bone Stock, for now
Just ordered some Wrangler Duratracs 265/70/17 and I am running stock suspension. I have a TRD sport, with 17" rims. I am a little overwhelmed by which wheels will fit well. Most of the aftermarket rims have a very small offset. How important is the offset? I see at the beginning of this thread, it shows the specs of the stock sport rims, should the aftermarket rims meet these measurements exactly? if not which measurements can I ignore, and by how much?

    Thanks

I just checked the hub bore size on my 2011 TRD Sport and it measures 106mm instead of the 108mm stated in the first post.

if the trd off road wheels are 5.25" backspacing, what is the most/least backspacing I should do to not start hitting suspension parts. I am looking at getting some winter rims and tires, but the tires will be the same as the factory 265/70/16. But I want to get as close to the 5.25" backspacing as possible.
If I do 4.75" backspacing, will I get rubbing?

Aluminum TRD Sport 17" wheel = Multiple finds, sorry can't confirm any of these.

    25.5lbs
    28.9lbs

    Aluminum TRD Offroad 16" wheel= 22.2 to 22.4lbs

My SR5 base model 4x4 truck has a center bore of 106mm, I would assume that this is the same for all 05+ model Tacomas with 6 lugs.

Looking to replace these 16" alloys in the spring. Anyone have the specs for this wheel? Or whatever the specs would be for an aftermarket wheel to replace them.

Also...my Taco is not the TRD, but are these the same as the TRD 16" wheels?

 uh...that's what I get for listening to my wife without looking at what she was talking about first. Turns out what she thought was the finish peeling was some sticker that was somehow stuck on the wheel and was turned up on one side. I told her "Come here honey, and watch this..." as I peeled it off the otherwise perfect wheel. She just shrugged and walked away.

Thats why I'm here!...Never done, all it takes is $$$
Just an FYI on the backspace/aftermarket thing. If you want the wheel to stick out more, For more clearance, you need a numerically lower number than you currently have (For Larger Tires than 265/75x16). To measure backspacing; take the wheel off, lay it face down, place a straightedge on the edges of the rim, NOT the tire!. Now, this is not easy with the tire mounted, but it can be done. As long as you have a straight edge to measure from, this can be a good, straight piece of lumber, a framing square, even a good, straight cardboard edge.. Place the straight edge on the rim, rim, rim!! Then measure down to the 'flats' or, the hub as it's known, that distance will be the backspace of your wheel. So, if youve got a 5.5" backspace and your huge tire is rubbin', you will need more backspace, such as 4.5" for example, which ironically, is a Lower number, I know. what your'e trying to do is move the CENTER of the wheel in, towards the vehicle, which in turn will move the RIM (&Tire) OUT. Now , keep in mind, this will cause excess load on your spindles/front end parts IF you go excessive. An inch should not cause much stress, but if you go more, the stress increases the farther you go... I'm sure you have all seen the car or truck out there that looks absolutely stooopid with rims sticking way out beyond the sides of the car !! So, here I've given you MY best explanation of backspacing, I have done this on my cars with custom rims, Tubbed out Hot Rods,Mustangs etc... It's not that hard, and if you need a Visual of the above process, I've seen it on many of the Tire mfg's sites, SUMMIT has a good one, there are many, but I give you my .02 cents in an effort to help. May your Flaps be Muddy:D

I've been looking around on this thread for a while an haven't found an answer so here is the most likely place to get one and the most relevant.

I have a 2008 TRD Sport with 17's (obviously) and I decided to buy some 16's because winter tires are cheaper and more widely available used in that size.

I bought a set of TRD Off Road wheels assuming they would just slide right on, but now reading through this the backspacing is slightly different.

Can I just put these wheels on my truck without issues? I am assuming all the front suspension parts and brake rotors are all the same between models.

Thanks in advance for the input, I'm anxious to know if I blew it.

Thanks for the info! As ashamed as I am to say this...I didn't even know the specs on my own wheels, now i can start shopping for new wheels with a little knowlege of what I can put on there.
