Hello (Tacoma)World! First time poster (long time lurker) here. I am looking for suggestions on wheels for my 2nd Gen. I have about a 2 1/2 to 3" lift in the front and what seems to be about 4" in the rear. Hub center to fender measurements are:
    front: 23"
    rear: 25"

Anyway, my goals for the truck are to have something functional for getting to remote trailheads/campsites while loaded with camping gear, mountain bikes and potentially a rooftop tent that I would mount on a cover/bedrack in place of the topper I'm running now. As it stands, my topper and bikerack weigh probably 300lbs.

For tire size, I'm thinking I'll probably stick to 265/75/16, 265/70/17, 275/70/17 or 255/75/17. I'd love a 255/85/16, but I don't want a mud tire. And the only other option I see are the 58lb ST Maxx. That's a little heavier than I'd prefer. A 255/80/17 would be great too, but I don't want to deal with a CMC.

As for specific tire models, I'm leaning toward Toyo AT3 load E in 16". In 17", I'm looking at either the Toyo (E), a BFG KO2 load C or maybe a Mickey Thompson Baja Boss in XL.

At the moment, I'm running the stock 16x7 TRD OR wheels, which are about 22.5lbs with a +30 offset. I actually like the look of the wheels with the black truck and chrome bumper/grille. I think a black rim wouldn't look as nice with this particular truck, but I'm open to ideas. My main issue with these rims is the +30 offset. Given the amount of lift I have, the extreme positive offset makes the tires look disproportional to me. I know I could get spacers, but I'd really prefer a wheel with a better offset. Also, by going to a 17" wheel, I would have additional (lighter) tire options and sizes, such as the load C BFG and the 255/75 tires.

Here are some of the wheels I've been looking at. Some of them don't really come in my preferred color (silver/aluminum), but I've included them because they are some of the only options I can find that have the proper offsets and weight I'm after. I'd like to stay at or under 25lbs on the wheels. As for aesthetics, I guess I prefer fairly simple, clean designs. I'm not really into the blacked-out, faux beadlocks - no offense. And I'm not sure the modern TRD Pro wheels would look very good on my truck, but I included them nonetheless. Also, I'm not 100% about the weights listed below, but I think they're fairly accurate.

    Wheels Size 16 Weight
    SCS F5 16x8 (-25 offset) 18.1
    SCS F5 16x8 (0 offset) 18.8
    SCS Stealth 6 16x8 (-25 offset) 20.3
    FSW 16x8 (0 offset) 21
    2020+ TRD Pro 16x7 (+13 offset) 21.4
    4Runner 3rd gen five spoke 16x7 (+15 offset) 21.5
    TRD OR Stock 16x7 (+30 offset) 22.3
    TRD FJ Cruiser 16x7.5 (+15 offset) 24

    Wheels Size 17 Weight
    FSW 17x8 (0 offset) 19.4
    FN Konig Countersteer 17x8 (0 offset) 20.5
    SCS F5 17x8.5 (-10 offset) 21.7
    SCS Stealth 6 17x8.5 (-10 offset) 22.6
    AGP Pro 17x8 (+5 offset) 25
    2015-2020 4Runner TRD Pro (17x7) (+4 offset) 25
    2021+ 4Runner TRD Pro 17x7 (+4 offset) 25
    4Runner SR5 (snowflake) 17x7 (+15 offset) 29
    4Runner TRD OR 17x7.5 (+15 offset) 29

One more thing. What do you suppose the most versatile wheel width and offset would be for both 16" and 17" that would allow me to have more options for tire size down the line? Like, say I go with a 265/70/17 this time around and want to go to a 275/70/17 or 255/80/17 next time.

Any suggestions or thoughts are greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jay

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
I really like the SCS wheels 17x8.5 and a offset of -10, I ran them with 265s and then when I went to 285s they worked great. The Method 701s are nice as well as Black Rhino. If you can stick with an offset of around 0 or -10 on a 8 inch wide wheel that helps fitting tires. My 285 70 17 load C tires only weigh 51lbs, lighter than lots of 255s if you are trying to save weight. I get around 20 mpg avg on the hwy with 60 mph speed limits.

Random question but what size tires did you have on the wheels in the photo?

Those Geolandars are 265/70/16. They look pretty silly with the lift.
