Hey guys. I have recently just order a set of the 16x8 XD Hoss wheels with a 4" B.S. and 0 offset wrapped in 285/75R16 Nitto Terra Grappler tires. I have heard a couple members say I should be ok with the fitting and then person who sold me the wheels said I would be ok as well, but I am just curious to really understand what the "backspacing" is?

Does the backspace determine how far the tire sticks out from under the fender well? What does a 4" B.S. do for me to either help (or harm) the tires fitting.

I don't mind trimming some of the plastic away for better fitment because I am almost positive that will be neccisary, but just curious to know.

    Thanks in advanced everyone

    wat?
the 4" backspacing you have will keep the tires farther away from the UCA, but they will stick out more. most people running 33's will run a 4.5" backspace if its available in that rim style. the backspacing is measured from the back of the hub (where the tires mount) to the inside lip of the rim. if i'm wrong, i'm sure someone here will correct me

just from recently researching new rims, most 9" width rims are like 4.75"

I'm sure you will be fine with the 4.8" bs, there are a couple on here running 5"bs, 0 offset and 33's on a 9" wide rim no problem
