Looking for some insight. I just got a set of Method 305s put on with a set of Baja Boss AT tires just the standard SLs. I’ve had these on since last Wednesday the 26th. Wednesday and Thursday were both dry and everything seemed fine, but every day since it’s been raining and I noticed a vibration seeming like it was coming from the rear wheels. I also had noticed one of the wheels didn’t have any weights on it. Trying to be on top of it i went back to Discount Tire yesterday to get them rebalanced. They rebalanced them and told me one of the rear wheels were indeed out of balance. Nice, should be good now (I thought). Went to work this morning and the vibration was even worse. I’d previously noticed that these Method 305s seem to like to hold some water on the outer lip, could this be the cause of my vibration/ roughness or am i just getting a bad balancing? One of the wheels still has no weights on it, but now instead of it being in the rear, they moved it to the front. Is it common for a wheel to balance perfectly? I’ll obviously wait till it’s dry to see if it’s any different but it’s suppose to keep raining here in PGH. Appreciate any thoughts or insight.

That water pools after the vehicle sits, it doesn't stay in place like a solid would with centrifugal force.

Yea i guess once it’s moving and the water kinda spreads out there’s no way it’d be enough to throw it off. Was just kinda thinking since the water just stuck in there maybe it could.

ROAD FORCE BALANCE, accept nothing else. it will tell you if there is a tire, or wheel issue. Ski

Go to a Toyota dealership and have them road forced balanced. Most of them have a special adapter that works better on our larger hub size. That was the only way I could get my falken wildpeaks to balance decent.

Keep in mind too, that with larger stiffer tires you will feel more imperfections in the road that sometimes can feel like a balance issue.

Method says they’re lug centric wheels…. I still used hub centric rings for perfect ride. That’s one option…. To look at.

No problem. I ordered directly from method for my tundra and had 35’s). And they didn’t send hub centric rings - when I emailed them, they just replied that they are lug centric and don’t require the rings but I’ve always found hubcentric wheel set ups typically run smoother

I ordered from tire rack since they offered free shipping and when i opened the wheels i noticed it saying something was already installed onto the wheels. I’ll have to check and see if that’s what it was. I’d assume (hopefully) it is.

Method wheels, 285-75-17 tires, no hub centric rings, smooth at over 100mph.

You might have a bad tire

Good to know, appreciate the insight. I’ll bring that up when i call again tomorrow and hopefully they can get someone on it to figure out what’s going on. 3rd time feels kinda crazy. Especially since it got worse after the last time they had it.

My buddy had this problem on his Tacoma, they ended up putting 4 new tires (different brand). Next time have an employee ride with you (before and after).
