    ok. heres the answer. when you measure back spacing and wheel width it comes from the inner lip of the wheel. that never changes. the distance from the inner lip of the wheel to the wheel mating surface is the back spacing. since your stock wheels and the aftermarket ones both have 4.5" of backspacing they are pretty much the same on the inside. where the extra inch of wheel width gets added on is to the outside. as far as the frame rubbing issue, do you have the same size tires on>

    I took the old tires off the old rims and mounted them on the new rims... Maybe spreading the tire out on a wider rim did something? Not sure, but they no longer rub the frame when I turn all the way to one side or the other.

    I barely rub the frame at full lock, but it's only because of the backspacing
