I used a wheelers 1/4" poly lean spacer on the driver side when I replaced my stock coilovers with 5100/883. I knew I should have gone with the aluminum but their sales rep said these worked just as well. They also advertise it as "custom made from an extremely tough and hard polyurethane formula, no crushing or cracking". I have now retightened the top 3 nuts like four times, each time they were quite loose, took probably a quarter to half turn before they reached proper torque again. I expected to do this once or twice as it seated itself, but when will it end? I feel like every time it collapses further it negative affects the alignment. Anyone else deal wit this?

I only did one 1/4 on the drivers side. But i did notice as i was torque down the top nuts that i felt like i was wrenching on that nut forever like you said (probably crushing it.) Then i heard a small snapping plastic sound and was like okay enough torque for that nut for now. Will check in again in a day or two to retighten for sure. But as alignment goes you could be correct, but very little i bet.

    yep..
Sucks to hear this as I have wheeler's 3/8 and 1/2 poly spacers waiting to go in.. Should've went for Al but I'm a cheap F. I do these things and almost always end up buying the better parts later on, never seem to learn though.

Well, I can tell you what I'd do if I could do it over again and that's never put this plastic piece of junk in my truck. The money difference is trivial for one 1/4" spacer, it's just the hassle of doing it over again if it doesn't eventually settle in and stop compressing. I should have known better, but I feel like wheeler's ad and sales rep were misleading at best. And, why not be honest about it when you'd be upselling to the better product anyway?

See thats a different story for you guys since you did both sides and everything. Im just gonna keep cranking on it regardless, that 1/4 doesnt bother me too much. It will run out of thread on the stud eventually!

No, i didn't do both sides, I did 1/4" on the driver side only for the lean.

I am having the same experience with the 3/8" poly space that I installed on the driver side. I wish I would have gone with the 1/4" aluminum spacer. Did anyone "get to the bottom" of this yet?

I kept a wrench with me and kept tightening them once a week and after offroad trips. Eventually it stopped being loose and i have no taco lean.

Thank You for that reply. I was thinking, no big deal, if I had to replace it and get another alignment, however, I wasn't looking forward to it.

A week and 2,500 miles later, some of those on the off road trails, the spacers have settled, nuts are tight, and no lean. So far it looks good.
